Cheesy Chicken Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
I made these last night and followed the recipe exactly - just doubled it. Super easy to put together and assemble on cookie sheets - I used ice cream scoop as others have suggested. They cooked in about 16 minutes and smelled so good! They tasted great too! I made a corn/rice mixture to accompany them and it was tasty, but would like to pair them with something creamier next time. We love garlic and red pepper - so they were great for us. Thanks for sharing!

Cindy's Jambalaya

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I just finished making/eating this. I love ordering jambalaya out at restaurants, but this was my first time making it. It turned out great! Thanks Cindy for an easy at-home version. I used jasmati rice (all i had) and won't next time. I added some chicken along with the sausage and shrimp. Besides using plain white rice next time, my other changes would be to buy a spicier sausage, use more cajun seasoning, and make cornbread spoon pudding to go with it!

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
I was so excited when I saw this as the "daily recipe" because it is one of our favorites. We found it 3 years ago when we bought our new grill. Since then we make these at least every month. They work on indoor grills too. We discovered that we wanted a bit more spice, so I dash in some cayenne pepper as well. I always make two batches - one beef (for him) and one turkey (for me). Both are Muy Delicious!

Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
What happened?? This was not to our liking at all! After reading the title, ingredients, and reviews, I thought that we would love this. I followed the recipe to the "T" - and it was BLAH! Bland! What happened? I had to add salt, pepper, more parmesan, and more salt - still blah! I didn't like this one - sorry!

Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
ummmm.....very disappointed. I wanted to make a "blondie" dessert like the one from Applebee's for my boyfriend. First, I used a large saucepan but this still expanded so much and so quickly that it made a huge mess. After I transferred it, it did cook nicely and turned into a nice drizzly syrup that smelled good. But it hardened into unchewable hard pieces almost as soon as we started drizzling. And it didn't taste that carmely like others said anyway. Ended up not using it and can't imagine putting this on pancakes. grrrrrrrrr

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
These were pretty tasty and DH and I enjoyed them, but they weren't "special". We would have been just as satisfied with a less expensive recipe. This recipe should just be for the garlic mayo. Hubby loved it! I don't like mayo, so I can't comment.

Blackened Tilapia with Secret Hobo Spices

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
This tilapia recipe gets 4 stars from this household. It was super easy to make and very, very tasty! I did not serve over bread, but I am sure that that would be good too! Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Crabmeat

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I would give one, but gave two because it is kinda my fault! I am in the middle of making this dish - and haven't tried it yet -so I will come back and edit, but I am so upset! I sauteed the breasts for 10 minutes on both sides like the directions said.....not even CLOSE to done and the crust is getting burnt!!!! And I pounded my breasts thin!!! But I just read other reviews and see that I should have pan-fried for a few and then baked.....so after I already cut one up, I put them all in the oven -where they are now. grrrrrr and all of my sides are ready! and the crust is burnt a little!! I'll come back and edit after dinner. OK, I'm back. I changed it to 3 stars because it was still pretty tasty. The chicken was a little dry and tasteless in parts and the "burnt" crust was annoying. I won't throw the recipe away. I will try it again and follow the other reviews before I judge for good!

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
This was tasty, but not fabulous. I used 10 eggs as others suggested and it took about 10 more minutes of cook time. I also added some pepper and dashes of hot sauce. I used green pepper sausage. I didn't have crescent rolls, so I used Grands Buttermilk biscuits. My boyfriend loved it, but I could do without the bread bottom. I wanted more eggs and meat!

Hot Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
Not sure if it is our taste or if I did something wrong, but we both thought this was pretty bad. First, the entire skin should be peeled off of the apple - it was nasty. We both love sweet foods, but this was soooo sweet it made me gag. It seemed like more of a topping to go over a crumble or cake than a dessert on its own. Wasted all of my ingredients and my Valentine's Day dessert. :( The only plus is that it made the house smell good.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
So yummy! I made this two weeks ago and hubby asked for it again this week! We love hot/spicy food and we love shrimp, so this was perfect. I definitely did not skimp on the red pepper flakes. I will double the "sauce" or even triple next time. Made with le mein noodles...yummo!

Twelve Minute Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
I want to give it 3 and a half stars! 3 for flavor and 4 for ease! I needed a recipe that I already had all of the ingredients for and I wanted to have sauceless fettuccini tonight. It was way easy and pretty tasty. You do kinda have to eat it right away. I added the red pepper flakes, more garlic, and 1/2 c. of chicken broth. I used florentine fettuccini. Will make again and maybe try to tweak some more spices for more flavor, but give it a try in a pinch!

Spicy Maryland Crab Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
okay, I just had to come write a review. This is one of the first recipes I printed off of here when I joined in 2003. Well, it is by far the one I have used/made/shared most often. It is DELICIOUS!! I get requests from my family members all of the time. I follow the directions exactly and always put it in a bread bowl. Yummo! Today will be my 6th New Year's Eve that I make it - it is a tradition. The only thing I modify is the amount of Old Bay - some people don't like it that strong (I do) - so I use slightly less. You have to make this!!! I'll try to remember to take a picture today and upload it. P.S. - I transfer the mixture to my bread bowl, wrap in foil, and bake for at LEAST 30-45 minutes. Perfect! Just take to your gathering in the foil, unwrap and ta-dah!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
I made this last night and it was soooo delicious! I followed some others' advice- I added garlic and onion powder and used Lowry's seasoned salt. I dredged it through egg twice (before and after the cracker mix). It cooked up quick and easy and was very juicy! Made the instant potatoes to go with it, added a salad and it was a quick easy yummy dinner. Will have a biscuit/cornbread next time!

Greasy Chicken

This was super easy and tasty. My boyfriend and I liked it a lot, but then again we love thighs almost any kind of way. I will be making it again because of the ease! oh, and not too greasy, and I did not cook in the marinade.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
These were ok for me. They lacked a little "kick" of flavor and crispiness. I used others suggestions like using garlic salt, pepper, and shaking in a ziploc bag. I baked on 400 for 40 min. I have had better baked fries.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2005
Delicious and sooooooo easy!!! It took only moments and was very flavorful. I poured the extra sauce on the plate for dipping and I also sauteed some shrimp in it. Very yummy! Thank you for another way to cook up tilapia filets!

Fudgy Chocolate Fondue

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2004
Very, very good! I have made it 3 times in 2 weeks. A very fancy presentation. Make sure to use Vitamin D evap. milk. I used skim the first time and that is why it never thickened up. Also, I find it reheats better than serving immediately. I premade it, refrigerated it, and then microwaved it and put it in my fondue dish prior to serving. Perfect! I dipped pineapples, strawberries, pretzels, and angel food cake.
