Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
I guess they were fine for what they were... but we ate 3 out of the dozen, and I had to choke mine down. My 2 year old normally loves these things, and he wouldn't eat his. Maybe I just need to add some things...

Amazing Pork Chops in Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
This is SO amazingly good. Really easy, too! I did have to adjust my cooking time a bit, but other than that, YUM! We used the sauce over spaghetti noodles as a side -- that was the kids' favorite part!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
These are really good. Great pungent taste. They lasted a long time in a ziplock, too! I actually preferred them a few days later!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
These are really good -- though they are a little bland exactly as the recipe is written (I have only made them as written). Maybe next time I'll play with some additions to add a bit to it. REALLY good base though. I LOVE that it's all from scratch.

Cream of Broccoli Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
I had a really difficult time getting this to thicken. I ended up having to use more flour... and some heavy cream... The flavor was actually pretty bland (maybe due to the extra flour...?). I think I prefer a more cheesy broccoli soup.

Honey-Wheat Sunflower Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
This is a really yummy bread. Unfortunately, it has such a distinct flavor of its own that it's not a good dipping bread (for soups or anything). I also didn't like the sunflower seed taste as strong as it was. I think I would probably half the seeds next time. (btw I did the recipe as written!)

Rocky Road Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
WOW! This recipe is GREAT. We did exactly as written except I didn't have squares of chocolate. I put about 1/2 c chocolate chips into a sandwich baggie and melted in a bowl over the warm oven (though I'm sure it would have been just as easy in the microwave). Then I cut the corner of the baggie in order to make it simple to drizzle the chocolate over the bars. PERFECT!! These are tasty warm -- but EXCELLENT the next day when they've cooled completely (we made them at night and the next morning they were perfect!)

Country Manor Breakfast Tart

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
This was fabulous. It's better than our favorite quiche! I did have to cook it an extra 15 minutes or so before it wasn't liquid in the center still. Fancy too! Make it as a show off dish!

Asian Chicken Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
This is a GREAT salad! Not too heavy. I did everything exactly as the recipe stated, but I cut the sugar just a bit -- we prefer our asian salads not quite as sweet as most. I think next time I will add another cup or two of the cabbage -- It helps even out the taste with all the nuts etc.

This is such a creamy and good pie! I had no trouble with the filling setting. It was PERFECT. I love the "double chocolate" taste! I got MANY compliments at Thanksgiving dinner.

Baker's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
It was good. But WAY more trouble than it's worth. I think I mixed it a bit too much though. Maybe I should try it again and see what I think then!

Light Wheat Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
This was my first "roll" experience. I've made bread plenty of times, but have been intimidated to try rolls. I'm glad I did! These turned out GREAT! I'm excited to make them again.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Simple. Good. I like that there's no cream. I just used Foster Farms precooked cubed ham. It wasn't the best choice, but it worked fine.

Glazed Country Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
I just wish the marinade was a bit more pungent. It wasn't as pronounced as I would have liked. The ribs were REALLY tender though. I got REALLY thick ribs, too. They took about an hour to cook on the grill. The temperature of the grill ranged from 325-350F
