Mizithra Browned Butter Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I had this at a local Italian restaurant and searched for the recipe and found it here! I followed instructions to a Tee and it was just so easy to put together. In fact the butter browns so fast you really need to watch it or it'll burn. I had no problem loacating the Mizithra cheese at a local grocery store. I'll definitely be making this one again!

Chinese Roast Chicken with Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
I tried this with chicken legs because that's what I had on hand. They turned out so moist and delicious! I was amazed that so few ingredients could produce something so good. Basted with soy first, 400 degree oven, turned halfway through and basted with more soy and then sesame oil. Total cooking time was about 40 minutes. I did add a little chicken stock to the pan while baking to prevent the soy from burning. The pan sauce was very salty so I added about a Tbsp of sour cream and it was amazingly yummy over rice. No need to thicken with cornstarch. This recipe is a definite keeper and probably my new go-to when I need some chicken for a sandwich or salad. I think next time I'll try split chicken breast or maybe a cornish game hen!

Linda's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
I had some blue cheese that needed using up so I picked this recipe to try out. I left out the parm thinking the blue cheese I had was a bit strong and didn't need it. Also left out the parsley mainly because I've never seen it in any commercial Blue Cheese Dressing I've ever purchased. I also cut back just a little on the hot pepper sauce as suggested by other reviewers especially since I was having Buffalo Wings. The finished dressing was creamy and delicious! It went great with the Buffalo Wings and was even better the next day on a green dinner salad once the ingredients melded a bit more. 4 stars because of the omissions but definitely 5 star flavor! Great recipe!

Creamy Souper Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
This is a good basic side dish recipe for any kind of roast meat. I've used Golden Mushroom soup in place of the regular Cream of Mushroom when I've served oven baked pork chops. Cream of Broccoli soup subbed for the Cream of Mushroom is very tasty along side Baked Halibut and I also switch out the regular chicken broth for Swanson's Chicken Broth with Lemon. Still not creamy enough? Try stirring in a spoonful of sour cream. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Crab Rangoon

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
This is a great recipe. I've made them with leftover king crab meat and once with finely diced ham. (a friend even suggested using Spam!) The basic recipe is very adaptable to any meat really. I gave it four stars because I thought these really should be deep fried for the best flavor and crispness from the won tons. Thanks for sharing!

German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
I've made this a couple of times now and have been very pleased with this recipe! It was so easy to make and really tasted great! I did make two small changes, I used Splenda instead of the sugar and I used half white wine vinegar and half cider vinegar just because I like the sauce just a little more tart than by using just the white wine vinegar alone. Oh, and I did double the amount of sauce as previously recommended and it was just perfect! Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe! This is now truly a family favorite and I will definitely make it again and again! I serve it with baked chicken or pork chops and a green salad.

Cabbage Patch Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
My Mom used to make this and always added a can of chili to give it a little more body and taste. I added the can of chili but left out the bell pepper (I just don't care for the taste of it). Instead of ranch beans I used seasoned chili beans and instead of picante I used my favorite medium salsa. That's what's great about this recipe. Anything goes! Like Mom I serve this over a square of cornbread but I also top it off with a dollop of sour cream! Yum!
