Lets see, as to follow in my mothers AMAZING footsteps, I've made it a personal goal of mine to learn to cook :) I grew up in El Paso, but as of 6 months ago, I am a proud resident of San Antonio, Tx. You'd figure growing up in a border city with 3 great cooks in the family I would've learned at a young age...WRONG! Although, I've had some disasters in my kitchen, I've also had a ton of success! I'm still picking up the little tricks here and there! I know now i should've listen to grandma and mom when they were trying to teach me to cook! Any advice or tips are always welcome!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything!!! But I am the ultimate pasta lover!!! Anything with pasta in it, I will make!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my mom's kitchen always smelled amazing!!! It was either her enchiladas, chile rellenos, or some other concoction she'd come up with! They were all a success! From her inside out hamburgers to her intricate lemon cheese braid bread!!!
My cooking triumphs
The best of the best: green chicken cheese enchiladas, the GREATEST chicken salad, my moms famous chile con queso, and yummy beer butt chicken (i know weird name!)
My cooking tragedies
Last year, I attempted to make a spinach cheese lasagna...it was the most bland and rock hard thing i'd ever eaten!!!It took so much time, so many ingrediants, and I had such high hopes! But in good spirits, my boyfriend grunted his way thru it and assured me it was good...he's my guinea pig for all experiments:)
