Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
I made this with half regular chili powder and half Ancho chili powder (I found this at Kroger, their brand too). I did not mash my beans, and used kidney, pinto and black beans (one can each drained). I also used two onions. I think that I would add one green bell pepper, chopped along with the onions and a can of diced green chilies to the next batch. Good stuff and it would be just as good meatless.

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
Delicious, I used pickle relish instead of the onions and more mustard (Dijon) than called for. I added dill and parsley to mine.

Chewy Cocoa Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
These are so awesome and so very easy to make. I think I would add some dark chocolate cocoa and some powdered coffee to the next batch. I added white chocolate chips to this as I was out of nuts and used liquid eggs in place of eggs.

Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
I made this as directed except I used skim milk thickened with 1/4 all purpose flour in place of the half and half. I also used 2 (12 ounces each) jars of bottled roasted peppers (had on hand). Delicious, would make again.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
This is really good, not spicy enough for us though. I would make it again and add cayenne or maybe it was because I seeded my jalapenos. I left out the celery since I don't like celery and used pinto beans instead of the chick peas.

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
I made this today for my husband and I since it was a cold snowy day and we needed something warm. I did not have zucchini so I added a can of pinto beans and a can of kidney beans at the end (drained). I didn't have green chilies so I added one can of diced tomatoes with jalapenos and I used water instead of broth. I used Emeril's Southwest Seasoning instead of taco seasoning. It was very good and flavorful and very easy to prepare.

Best Easy Chicken Croquettes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
Very good and simple recipe. I will be making it a lot since I have plenty of leftover turkey. The only thing I changed was to use cream of mushroom soup since it was what I had on hand.

Classic Molasses Cookies

Spicy, soft and delicious. Very easy to make. The only thing I changed was that I used butter in place of the shortening (what I had on hand).

Whole Wheat Pumpkin-Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
I forgot the eggs and used more buttermilk. I will remember the eggs next time. I love these and so does my husband and we made them without the raisins and nuts. I think that they would be delicious with cranberries also. Perfect amount of spices and very moist. Highly recommended.

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
My dog Sorcha (Husky/German Shepherd mix) loves these. I made them with molasses instead of honey because that is what I had on hand and 1/2 cup rolled oats instead of the wheat germ (also what I had on hand). I also threw in 2 tbsp. milled flax seeds. Definitely a keeper and I will also share with friends that have dogs this Christmas.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
I left out the cinnamon and salt and used 1 cup of pumpkin and 1/4 cup peanut butter. I used 1/2 cup oats in place of some of the whole wheat flour. My dog Sorcha loved these (a husky/shepherd mix). Definitely a keeper.

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
I really enjoyed this, very easy to make and very flavorful. I personally would add more cayenne as this is not that spicy to me and my husband. I used 1/2 cup chicken broth as recommended by other posters and sauteed the peppers with some sliced mushrooms. I will make this again, thanks for sharing :O)

Baked Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Very good and easy to make. I steamed the green beans before I baked them and used more bread crumbs and 1 tbsp. melted butter instead of 1 tsp. I also used Balsamic Vinegar instead of cider vinegar as other posters have suggested. Thanks for posting.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
This is deliciously decadent, with just the right amount of chocolate and bourbon and it is very easy to make. I usually make one for Thanksgiving. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
These were delicious. I made mine with flounder as I really don't like cod. The beer batter was very flavorful and I will use this recipe for my fried fish from now on. I left out the capers from the white sauce as I don't really like them and served with some fresco salsa. I loved the white sauce. Also I did not fry the corn tortillas, I just warmed them. As the others mentioned I will try grilling or oven baking the fish next time. I will definitely make them again, thanks for posting.

I made this to go with Veronica's Apple Pancakes and it was so delicious and very easy to make. It would also be good over some vanilla ice cream, waffles, French toast or crepes.

Veronica's Apple Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
This was very delicious. As suggested I added more cinnamon and made cinnamon syrup to serve. I did use almond milk and 1/4 cup applesauce in place of the egg, and I used olive oil in place of butter to make this a vegan recipe. I also used white whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour. Very fluffy and moist pancakes, I highly recommend this recipe!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
I made this to go with a Bahn Mi sandwich recipe. It was delicious, even though I ended up using AP Flour (no bread flour) and I only had egg whites, so I used that for the wash. I also used rapid rise yeast and I made this by hand (no bread maker). Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!
