Creme Fraiche Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
Never used creme fraiche until now for this recipe. Very good but I modified it a bit by adding roasted bell pepper and no onions. I'll probably make this recipe again without the chicken, just roasted vegetables. Also, I did add much more wine, probably about 1 1/2 cup because I like more sauce and the pasta also soaks it up.

Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Great sauce but my fiance doesn't think it will replace his A-1 sauce for his steak. But we think it'll be great with ribs with more tabasco sauce. Easily made in five minutes.

Bagels II

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
First time making bagel and it came out perfect! Of course I have to practice on shaping it like how the bakery does it but the taste is great. I did boil the bagel for about 3 minutes, flipping it several time just to make sure it double in size. I made the mistake of adding the yeast into the flour mix instead of dissolving it in water. Still came out perfect. Also, 0.25 ounce yeast is 1 1/2 teaspoon.

Pan De Sal I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Great recipe. The bread was light and perfect. I used bread flour and followed another reviewer by using one cup of sugar. I followed another recipe by coating it with evaporated milk and sprinkling on bread crumbs.

The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2010
Moist and chewy cookie. I only gave it four stars since I did modify the ingredients a bit by following other reviews. I used 3/4 cup oil with 2 tablespoon water and I used bread flour. I measured out the dough to one tablespoon and added about 9 chocolate chips to each, I ended up with 45 cookies. I baked at 375 degree and the cookies were perfect. Great to freeze.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I made this sauce on a whim so I didn't have liquid smoke but I thought it still taste great. I used a little less brown sugar but my fiance still thought the sauce was a bit sweet. I will continue to make this but probably will add less sugar and get liquid smoke to see the taste difference.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
Easy gourmet popcorn. I followed another reviewer by having my oven at 300F and stirring it every 10 minuted for only 20 minutes. Fast and delicious! Update: I made this two more times and now it always come out grainy, not sure why. The only difference is that I'm using safeway brown sugar now and before it was walmart brown sugar. I'll try one more batch using walmart brand and see if sugar is the reason, I haven't changed anything else.

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
It must be me but I'm not loving this. I was hoping to love it but that's not the case, it's good but not something I would crave. I first tried it using ghee (clarified butter) but it didn't work. The sugar melted but the butter never mixed in no matter how much I tried. I then used regular butter and it was fast to get the caramel color. I'll give this recipe another try when the holiday is near and see if my opinion changes.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
Easy and taste great! I followed other reviews by using butter, half white sugar and half brown sugar, and also added an extra tsp of cornstarch to the blueberry mix. I melted half of my butter so it was easier to mix and by doing this, my mix wasn't dry but more like cookie dough. I used 4 cups of frozen blueberry and I think it's plenty. Definitely will make this again.
