Ron's Bread Machine White

I exchanged powdered milk for liquid (and reduced the water), used King Arthur AP flour (it's high protein/gluten), and did an even exchange of oil to butter, and it turned out lovely! I think I had a touch too much liquid, as the bottom of the bread was slightly more dense than the top, and the top cratered a tiny bit, but I'm still learning my brand new bread machine, so it was prob user error.

Best Bread Machine Bread

At the suggestion of others, I added extra salt (I used a heaping tsp as opposed to the regular tsp called for), and it turned out almost perfect. Only a tiny bit fell in the center. The reason for 3 stars instead of 4 is that it had an aftertaste of vegetable oil. Very strange. I think next time I'm going to use butter instead of oil, and subtract a Tbsp of water, see how that works out :-)

Ultimate Lemon Cake

This cake was really good! If you follow the instructions correctly (beat butter and sugar until fluffy, beat after every egg addition, and your baking powder isn't bad) it isn't terribly dense. It's more dense than a box mix, sure, but not so much that it takes away from the cake. Most glaze soaked cakes are denser than box mixes so they don't fall apart and turn to mush. I removed one star because the glaze at the end was way too thin. It dripped right off the cake. I'd do 1/8c lemon juice to 2c sugar. Maybe even add more sugar.

Banana Pudding IV

It's delicious, but too sweet even for me (a notorious sweet tooth). I think it could do without the sweetened condensed milk (use 1/2 the amount of reg milk instead?) and definitely MORE bananas. I used 4 ripe ones and they were lost amidst the pudding. Also, I'd half the cream cheese. The cream cheese left almost a sour aftertaste compared to the extreme sweetness of the dish. Overall very yummy, but could do with some minor changes :)
