Wild Rice Shrimp Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Very good as is, but I made two changes. To save calories, I omitted the butter and just sauteed the evegatbles in a tiny bit of oil. Also -- and this is crucial for those of you who know seafood -- I skipped sauteeing the shrimp and just added them ram to the mixture that went into the oven. 25 minutes at 350 degrees is more than enough time to cook the shrimp. No need to cook them twice.

Italian Subs - Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
This was very god, though I wan't a fan of the overly wet lettuce/tomato/onion combo. Next time, I might be inclined to just mix the olive oil and other stuff, and drizzle it over the lettuce and some sliced onions and tomato. Also, the ingredients are rather expensive, so much so that you can almost get a restaurant sub for close to this price. Next time, I'm going to experiment with different mixes of meats, including mortadella, sporessata and pepperoni. But, all told, it's a good eat.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
I made this, and it was very good. A few adaptations to note: Use a 32-ounce carton of broth instead of water. Putting frozen chicken breasts in at the start worked out fine. I added one can of drained black beans and used one can of canned corn. I like a lot of stuff in my soup, so next time I might be inclined to use at least 1 1/2 cans of each. I might also be inclined to use more cumin and chili powder, just because I like things spicy.

Skyline Chili I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
This is good stuff! The second time I made it, I cut the cinnamon back to 1/2 teaspoon and it was much better. My opinion is that the original recipe calls for too much cinnamon.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
This recipe was GREAT! I've been eating stroganoff my whole life and, considering it's a no-effort version, it's very good. I was skeptical of the cram cheese instead of sour cream but it came out fine. I used dried, minced inions instead of "real" onion and that was fine. I also added mushrooms and, next time, I'd use a bit more meat than called for as there's a fair amount of shrinkage during cooking.
