Hamburger Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2001
This stew proved hearty enough to fill hungry family members. It tasted great! I used 2 packages of Taco seasoning and used peas and corn instead of beans - it tasted great! I also added a few more potatos to make it thicker.

Winter Lentil Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2003
I've never made lentil soup before, and this turned out great. I used a can of diced tomatos to save time chopping and it was perfect. Using my food processor made this recipe a breeze.

Finnish Turnips

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2001
This recipe overall was pretty good. It was a little too soggy for my taste, but it had a nice not-too-sweet flavor. The cornflakes helped.

Winter Wonder Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2003
This was a wonderful recipe. I cut out the nuts, and it still tasted great. I don't think the baking time is nearly long enough. Next time I'll try at least another 20 minutes. It looked done, but then sank in the middle and was raw and doughy everywhere but the edges. However, I baked it in stoneware and perhaps this made a difference. I would still highly recommend this recipe. I served them hot with Vanilla Ice Cream and "Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce" (also from this site). Awesome!

Mandarin Almond Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
This is a wonderful quick and easy salad. The red wine vinager gives it an excellent, tangy taste. This salad looks great and never fails to impress.

Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2001
This recipe was wonderful! Thank you!! I was looking for a salad I could bring to a dinner party, this one was perfect, and people were even having seconds. I ignored the measurements and simply made sure there was ample amount of each ingredient to make a layer to suit the bowl I used, it worked out well.

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2002
We really enjoyed this recipe. I only used half the chicken and found the recipe to still turn out great. I'll be making this again.

Creamy Slow Cooker Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2002
This was an excellent soup. I almost destroyed it with too much salt, but adding a little extra four, milk and water solved my problem. I found the last step of blending 4 cups to be an indispensable rule as it gave the soup a wonderful texture! My husband is not a real "soup person", but he liked this one. It was nice and hearty.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
This was a wonderful recipe! I made it for a dinner party and my guests raved. I saved a lot of time by mincing my clams in my food processor. I made it in the morning and added the clams in the evening just before serving. I forgot to add the red wine vinager and it was still great. Thank you!

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2002
It was very flavorful and salty, but I like salty. I'm not sure if kids would be keen, but my husband and I really enjoyed it.

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2002
I used some of the suggestions already listed in Reviews and this recipe worked out very well. I added about a half cup of brown sugar for a more tangy taste. The meat was very tender. I added cornstarch to make gravy as suggested but I preferred the taste of just dipping the chicken into the left over sauce. I had a frozen chicken and defrosted it for 20 minutes in the mic. It turned out fine this way.

Cheesiest Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2002
I have been searching for this soup! It was Tuesday's and Thursday's soup at University - my favorite! I have finally found it! Mmmm... I would've gone back to school just to taste it again... almost:)! It is a perfect "Sunday Evening" soup. A big hit with company! I've made a half batch and a full batch and both worked out very well. I highly recommend this soup.

Smothered Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2001
The sour cream in this recipe proved to be too dominant a taste. The bacon did not get crispy.

Husband's Delight

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2003
True to it's name, my husband did enjoy this recipe. I was out of sour cream, so instead I used 1 block light cream cheese, 1 cup cottage cheese and about a 1/4 cup cream. This worked well, it tasted great. As per the other suggestions, I added taco seasoning and corn. These were very good additions. Some people said their noodles burned to the bottom, I buttered the pan and the noodles turned out great. I also used fine egg noodles, which gave it a great texture. We really enjoyed this.

Potato Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2001
I don't like peeling potatos, but this recipe was worth it! I used cream of mushroom because I didn't have any cream of chicken in the house, but it was still very tasty. They made very good leftovers too!!

Everyone loved these cookies! Next time I will use a half cup less of oatmeal to make the cookies a little more chewy. I found them just a touch dry for my taste.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2002
These were some of the best brownies I have ever had. I doubled the recipe and used a bigger pan. I may bake them slightly longer next time, if I do it the same way. The frosting has a very nice flavor. Chocolate lovers beware!
