About this Cook
I have always shown interest in cooking. I love to try new foods, I think it is very strange that people aren't adventurous when it comes to food. I am starting culinary school at The Art Institute in June and i plan on owning my own restaurant someday.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try to cook food i have never cooked before. I love Chinese, Mediterranean, Mexican, and traditional southern food. I am always looking to learn about new foods, ingredients, and culinary techniques.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family cooks a lot of southern style dishes. My grandma grew up in Oklahoma and she is the cook in the family, so we eat a lot of southern comfort foods.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
Delicious and Sooo moist, but not to moist. i used a topping from a different recipe and it was perfect, here is the recipe: 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 cup quick cooking oats 1 cup chopped pecans Mix all ingredients in a bowl until it crumbles. set aside until bread is ready to bake. sprinkle the top of each loaf with one forth of the topping. Use the pecans (or walnuts) instead of the walnuts in the banana bread recipe

Old Fashioned Onion Rings
This is by far the best onion ring recipe i have come across. I loved the texture but they could of used a little more salt and some garlic powder. I also prefer more onion in mine so I used two pieces of onion in each ring instead of just one.. Other than that, perfect... Its a little messy but well worth it.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal Pancakes
I tried these this morning.. i used milk instead of skim milk and the batter came up a little thin, so i added more flour. I also added more peanut butter because i love peanut butter. i used boysenberry instead of strawberry preserves and it was Delicious.. I definitely will try this again (with skim milk this time)
