My wife and I have been married 2 years. She is half-Japanese and until her, I did not cook many ethnic meals other than Italian; now, I am "learning the ropes" on some new and challenging Asian recipes.
We have no children; only our Boxer, Mojito, who provides us immense joy everyday.
My favorite things to cook
Italian is my favorite ethnic. I experimented once by reading can labels on making my own lasagna. It is now a monthly meal for us and I've become somewhat of an expert on my sauce. I also enjoy gourmet cooking of wild game especially bison. I also am becoming rather successful in baking cakes and pies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas dinner over the past 4 years has developed into a a seafood feast with my wife, mother-in-law, and sister. Last year was Lobster and scallops. I'm planning on having a crab bake this year.
My cooking triumphs
Making an authentic stir-fry and my wife reminiciscing about how much it tasted like her Grandmother's.
My cooking tragedies
homemade butter toffee. I always scorch it.
