My Family
About this Cook
I am a stay-at-home-mom of two very active children. I used to be the sort of person who considered a home-cooked meal to be opening a box of pasta and a jar of sauce. Since I married my husband, we've been making more and more things completely from scratch. Now, if I can't make it myself, we don't eat it.
My favorite things to cook
I am a bread-baking addict. I love to try new bread recipes and always try to have a fresh-baked loaf for my family. I really love to cook international dishes (misir wot and injera from Ethiopia, for example). My family loves to try new and different dishes!
My cooking triumphs
I once made my own mozzarella cheese completely from scratch. I've also been very successful with banana bread and my sour cream cornbread. I also make my own macaroni (much better than the boxed stuff!).
My cooking tragedies
Potatoes au gratin (greasy mess)

Ultimate Frozen Strawberry Margarita
Tried this recipe last night and it was fabulous! I did sub Grand Marnier for the triple sec and my own frozen berries with a simple syrup for the store-bought frozen berries, but I'm sure it would have been fine as written. My husband and I both loved it and will definitely be making it again!

Easy Chicken Enchilada Crescent Bake
First of all, you do need to bake this at least 20-25 minutes for the dough to get cooked through. I had to cook it 25 minutes. Also, I used some shredded faux turkey and homemade dough. They were very tasty!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Holy poop these biscuits were fabulous!!! I did follow another reviewer's idea to add a dash of Old Bay to the dough and 1/4 tsp to the brushed-on butter. I haven't been to that certain seafood restaurant in years, but these taste spot on with what I remember!
