Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2015
I prepped to make this soup and then discovered my radish greens were bad. I substituted spinach, used 1/2cup of half& half instead of the cream.Added a half tsp each of parsley, thyme, and black pepper. Absolutely incredible!

Simple Garlic Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2015
What a surprise! When I read the recipe, I figured it would be good, but just another butter garlic sauce. WRONG! The caper brine really added a different dimension to the flavor. DO NOT SKIP IT!I did not have parsley. I added one finely sliced green onion with the garlic, and it blended perfectly! This would be fantastic with linguine.I may try a tbs. of dry white wine next time. I cannot wait to make this again!

Baked Flounder with Panko and Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2015
Incredibly simple to make. I substituted Old Bay seasoning for the salt, pepper and thyme. This was delicious. I got lucky at Sam's Club. They were liquidating 3 lb bags of flounder for 51 cents a bag! I got 15 lbs. of flounder for $2.55. I'm sure I'll be making this recipe a few more times! Quick. Easy. Delicious.

Pretty good soup. Easy to make. I think I liked it better unblended.

Zesty Pickled Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
The vinegar was overpowering, and the cider flavor just didn't go very well with these ingredients. I will try this with more of a brine next time.

Spicy Bloody Mary Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2014
I was in the bar business for 15 years and have made hundreds of Bloody Mary's. I had never heard of beef consommé'being used before, so I was intrigued by this recipe. It is fantastic! The perfect amount of spices and flavor. I did add a Tbs. of horseradish. Easy to make. Easier to drink!

Easy to make.Good flavor. I blended about 1/2 of the soup after cooking, and added 1 cup of half&half to make it a bit creamier. I'll use low sodium chicken stock next time after seeing the sodium content in the Nutritional data

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2014
This recipe was delicious. I used half the butter and half and half instead of cream. I used some kind of giant white onions (looked just like a leek, only a lot cheaper)instead of leeks. Added 3 cloves of chopped garlic during sauté. I also blended half of the soup to make it a little thicker and smooth. Very easy to make. Everyone, including kids, loved it. If you are using chicken broth, don't add any more salt.

Miso Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2014
After adding the Dashi, I tasted the Miso paste before adding. It was low sodium, but still a bit salty. I only used 2 Tbs. Miso and it was enough. I added about a 1/2 cup of tofu and a 1/2 cup seaweed cut in about 1/2 in pieces along with the onion. This was delicious and light. Make sure you soak and rinse the seaweed if you use it. Made it again with thinly sliced celery and bamboo shoots, in addition to the green onion. I cut all of my ingredients thinly to keep the soup light and brothy. So simple, but made me look like I might actually know what I'm doing! lol Thanks Michelle Chen.

Mediterranean Snow Peas

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
Delicious and quick. I didn't have lemon, and skipped the OO. I used 3 cloves of garlic. Be careful not to add too much water. Use a little at a time, as needed.I used snow peas from the last harvest in my garden. This recipe gives me a great reason to plant them again next year.Very good!

Roasted Red Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
I used semi-hot red banana peppers(8) instead of bells. added 3 carrots and 1 sauteed onion and 4 sauteed garlic cloves. Pureed all ingredients(didn't have 'shrooms) until smooth, then simmered in a pot for abot 15 minutes. Didn't add pasta.Used about 18oz. of broth. It came out kind of like a bisque. This made about 3-4 bowls. If you like a bit of heat, this was awesome!

Garlic Chicken Fried Brown Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Great, simple recipe. I did not have rice vinegar or red bell pepper. I finely minced a serrano pepper(great if you like a little bit of heat), and used a cup of frozen mixed veggies instead of just peas. I also tossed the chicken in a light flour, season salt and breadcrumb coating before sauteeing. Excellent!
