Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Very good soup. I omitted the salt and Worcestershire (I'm a salt lover and this soup definitely didn't need the addition). It was a bit acidic, so I added some sugar. Chopped the carrots very thin so that they'd soften nicely. I ended up simmering for about 50 minutes to thicken it slightly. The resulting texture was very good and needed no blending.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Wonderful. I cut the mayo in half, and used a bit less relish. Interestingly, relish is one of my least favorite foods but I went ahead and added it only because this recipe was reviewed so well, and it REALLY worked out! Those of you who prefer a tuna salad without relish may be delighted with this one. I know I was.

Borscht I

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
This is an incredibly good Borscht, but watch out for the strangely written recipe. A few alterations I'd recommend: Cut the amount of cabbage in half, use two or three beets, and don't discard the beets after boiling; instead, dice them and add them back to the stock for a heartier stew. I've made this five times and only had a bad result once, when I tried to double the recipe using the same ratios. I couldn't tell you why, but the end result was orange and tasted slightly off. The default measurements always yeild a good result.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Easy and quite good, though I wish it were a little heartier. I'll experiment the next time I make it. Great with sour cream and shredded cheese.
