About this Cook
I am a 17 year old Baptist Christian girl living at home with my wonderful parents. I am the oldest of 7 children, all of whom are tons of fun. :) I love reading God's Word-the King James Bible, playing piano (A LOT), writing songs, playing guitar, playing violin, and playing any other instruments I can get my hands on. :)Reading old classics, exercising, shopping with friends and cousins, and music are all a big part of my life. God is Good!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are desserts, especially more challenging things like layered bars and such. I have a MAJOR sweet tooth! (moan) :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We almost always make German Snitzel for special occasions. Since we are from a German background on Mama's side, we use a lot of Old-country recipes. One of my favorites is Spaetzla, or homemade German noodles. They can be served with either salt or sugar, because they are just thick, chewy noodles! I LOVE them!
My cooking triumphs
Making bread! I absolutely love baking bread of any kind, but especially yeast breads. For a while I was selling bread, but now that we have moved, I have kind of stopped. I also love candymaking.
My cooking tragedies
Mainly leaving things in the oven too long, although one time I did leave out the yeast in a batch of wheat bread. Needless to say, they were like bricks. :/

Grilled Lemon Parmesan Asparagus
This is a really good asparagus recipe, and it didn't take too long to make, either. It is very tangy and delicious. I think we would definitely make this again! Thanks for the recipe!
