About this Cook
I am a 15 year old Baptist Christian girl living at home with my parents in Fossil, OR. I am the oldest of 7 children, in order my sibling's names are: Micah (12), Malachi (9), Mercy (7) Kourage (5), Kayson (3), and Kebron (1 year). The last three kids are actually "M" names too, but we call them by their middle names. My Father is the pastor of the Baptist church in our town of 430 residents.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are desserts, especially more challenging things like layered bars and such. I have a MAJOR sweet tooth! (moan) :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We almost always make German Snitzel for special occasions. Since we are from a German background on Mama's side, we use a lot of Old-country recipes. One of my favorites is Spaetzla, or homemade German noodles. They can be served with either salt or sugar, because they are just thick, chewy noodles! I LOVE them!
My cooking triumphs
Making bread! I absolutely love baking bread of any kind, but especially yeast breads. I also won Junior Champion Baker Award this last year at the fair, so that was really fun. I have actually started a business in Fossil now, making monthly bread deliveries to different people. Makes it easier now that I have my driver's permit! ;)
My cooking tragedies
I am unfortunately always leaving things in the oven for slightly too long. I almost have to tie a red ribbon onto my nose or something to keep me from forgetting about things in the oven! Haha. :) Also, I have several times wondered why things were not baking and then realized that the stove/oven was off! It might help to turn them on, dipstick!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake I
This was very moist and fudgy!! I'm really impressed. I was out of eggs, so I substituted 3/8 cup of water for the two eggs. Other than that I followed it exactly. I used chocolate frosting on it too. Thank you for this delicious recipe!!

Washboard Cookies
I thought these were VERY good! They were chewy and delicious. Very nice because of being tight on money and not having much of anything fancy on hand. Thanks for the recipe!

Something Special Apple Crisp
This is utterly DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe just a *tiny* bit too sweet, but that can be easily remedied! :) I would definitely make again!!
