Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
Took some other reviewers advice and nixed the ketchup. Sauteed onions and mixed with the meat. Increased the gravy and added Cream of Mushroom soup, a little red wine, dry onion soup mix and a can of mushrooms. I browned the patties then baked at 350 degrees for 45 mins. I added a little Bisto to the gravy and served with mashed potatoes and corn. Great dinner!!

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
Really nice! I steamed frozen broccoli, sauteed onions and sliced Portabello mushrooms and threw it all together with sour cream and cream of mushroom soup. A little splash of white wine would really increase the richness but it was incredibly yummy just the way it is. Thanks for the recipe!

A Very Popular BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
Wow! I was doing a recipe that called for a cup of BBQ sauce and I only had 1/2 C available of a 'bottled' brand, so...I dashed over here and found this. Am I glad I did! I whipped up a 1/2 cup and taste-tested them both. This far outdid the bought one...I couldn't stop licking my fingers. Thanks so much.

Garden Stuffed Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
I had forgotten to thaw some meat for dinner and so decided to make this recipe as a main course. It was wonderfully filling and oh-so-healthy!! I used broccoli, cauliflower, grated carrots along with the onions. I used Ranch dressing mix (mixed it with skim milk and lite mayo to equal around 2/3 cup). I added 1/2 cup of fairly old sharp cheddar and topped with Mozzarella. I put them under the broiler for a couple of mins. They were scrumpdilly-ishous!!

Wonderful!! The only thing I did was to toss the prepared pasta with the Sour Cream. Easy to make ahead of time and toss into the oven when need be.

I just out the 5th one I've made into the oven. Fantastic recipe. There is really no wrong way to make this delectable pie. The only change I make is to decrease the amount of milk (I use around 2/3 of a can). Perrrrrfectttiiiioonnnn!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Fantastic!!! I made the 2 loaves, kept one at home and took the other to the Thanksgiving Dinner at the inlaws. The hostess (a VERY accomplished baker) was blown away by how moist this was and asked for the recipe! I decided to make the recipe as written except for doubling the spices (kept the cloves as written). Next time I may try to substitute applesauce for some of the oil but the moistness is what really makes this bread stand out!

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
Very light and nice. Like other reviewers I decreased the milk (I used evaporated milk for a fluffier quiche) to 3/4 C. I also used sharp Cheddar and added a dash of Nutmeg. I also topped with sliced fresh tomato and baked it at 400 degrees for 30 mins. Will most certainly make again.

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
I loved this!!! I did follow some other reviewers' advice and used oil and applesauce (1 cup to 1/2 c.). Mixed a puree with added Splenda. Then used a comniation of diced and whole, soft strwberries. It came out so moist it was more like a bread-pudding. I made it a second ime reducing the oil to 1/2 cup and increeasing the applesauce to 1 cup. It was a better cosistecy. VERY flavorful!!!

This was crazy good!! I took some suggestions and covered and baked it at 300 for 1 1/2 hours, then broiled it for a few minutes. I was curious about the cheese topping and was delighted at how yummy it was. Thanks for a great recipe!

Beef Stew VI

Absolutely lovely!! Just 'cause I had the time I pre-roasted the veggies in Olive Oil to add a greater depth of flavor. I also just used broth, a dash of rosemary, Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!
