I'm a married lady in my early 40's. I'm a stay-at-home wife and mom to one teenage girl. I have one fur-kid (a dog) and one feathered-kid (a cockatiel). I love my little family and my job of running this household!
My favorite things to cook
Anything in a slow cooker. Also, I especially love to bake tasty, eye-appealing treats. I'd LOVE to learn how to properly make candy... I just don't seem to have the knack whenever I've tried.

Cabbage rolls & Perogies.

Anything that turns out as good as I had hoped, AND recieves the thumbs-up from my family!
My cooking tragedies
There's been quite a few, but mostly it has to do with over-cooking and burning things. This one time, I was boiling carrots and forgot about them. The pot boiled dry and the carrots imbedded themselves right into the metal on my $99 pot!

Easy Refrigerator Cookies
Wow, this is one superb cookie! I did, however, make a few changes.. I subbed almond extract for the vanilla, and chopped, blanched almonds for the walnuts. Also, I skipped the roll, wrap, and refrigerate step, and I simply rolled the dough into tight little balls, and flattened with a fork like a peanut butter cookie.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I
Fantastic recipe for chewy cookies, especially if you and the peeps love chocolate. I followed the recipe to the T, only I used white chocolate chips instead, to give a nice color contrast. As a side note, would you believe my husband said they weren't very chocolatey? HA! Not only are his eyes and ears going, but his taste buds must be failing too;)

Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti Squash
I thought I'd use up a spaghetti squash that my old auntie on the farm gave me a few months ago. I found this recipe and thought, "Perfect!" Well, the sauce turned out d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s, but the squash was obviously too old and too bitter for our consumption. No probs... I just made a box of Stove-Top Stuffing and we used the sauce on top of that (like a gravy) and on our roasted chicken. I will make this sauce again and maybe use it on pasta.
