Chef John's Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

I thought this was very dry, even though I added more pineapple juice than than recipe called for. The "cake" portion was like a dry biscuit consistency and very heavy. I prefer the pineapple upside down cake v!

Zippy Barbecue Sauce

This is a quick and tasty basic sauce. It is very easy to add your own "twist" to this recipe. I added 1 teaspoon of cloves and a tablespoon of honey...very good!

Summer Tomato Pie

This was an excellent recipe! I also spread the prepared crust with mayo as well as topping the tomatoes with mayo. What really made this dish special (aside from my fresh heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil) was making my own fresh mayo! It is very simple to do and really mad a difference!
