Mozechilli Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2014
I replaced the ground beef with Johnsonville ground sausage. I also added about a cup of chopped mushrooms and a chopped yellow onion, which I sautéed with the browning sausage. Because the sausage is seasoned it gave the recipe some much needed spice. I would suggest using only 8 ounces of pasta as the sauce tends to be dry when you use a full pound because it gets absorbed into the pasta as it bakes.

Honey Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
Really liked this marinade a lot. I didn't use the frozen veggies, but instead added a fresh red pepper, onions and mushrooms. I like fresh veggies better than frozen I guess. Very quick, healthy and delicious!

Simple, Classic Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
This was very good! I made my own crust mainly because I forgot to buy one when I went to the store. I also halved the recipe to make 2 individual pies which still, for us turned out to be 6 meals. I also couldn't find frozen peas and carrots, so I bought a frozen back of peas, carrots, corn and green beans. I would do that again if I made this again. I really liked the corn in it. All in all, I thought this recipe was easy and delicious. I also was happy to use a recipe that didn't use heavy cream!

Chilled Russian Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
Easy and excellent! I didn't have chili sauce but I did have sambal Olek which is similar so I used that instead. This went great on our pastrami sandwiches and I would highly recommend this over store bought Russian dressing.

Easy Homemade Pastrami

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
Not only was this good, but probably the best pastrami sandwich I've had since moving to California! I had a 2.5 pound corned beef that I cooked for about 4 1/2 hours. I also didn't have smoked paprika or white pepper. I didn't miss it and if you don't have it, I wouldn't go out to buy it just for this recipe. I just increased the coriander and black pepper a bit. I made some homemade Russian dressing, and made the typical pastrami sandwich on rye with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut. Delicious! I can't wait for the leftovers tomorrow.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2014
This marinade is awesome! I didn't have lemon juice so I just doubled the vinegar. I also used thigh and leg meat for the kabobs because I like dark meat better prepared this way. Just personal preference. I also halved the recipe and there was more than enough. My husband said he would eat this every week. My 14 month old ate this up too so I guess he liked it!

Naan

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2014
This turned out better than I thought it would. My dough looked like it wasn't going to come together because it was so hard and dry. I had to add some more water to the mixture. Next time I would try not adding as much flour. I also added a half teaspoon of baking powder because I like the bubbles in naan that form when you cook it. I didn't add the garlic to the dough but rather to the melted butter. I also sprinkled it with fresh chopped rosemary. My husband and I loved this. I only made a few for dinner and I have the rest in my freezer for future use. Even though this turned out great, I'm giving this 4 stars because as written, my dough wouldn't have come together.

We loved these! They are a lot of work though so make them when you have time on your hands. Great flavor though!

Mexicali Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2014
Well, we love our tequila so these are a good thirst quencher on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon. I like them better than the regular margaritas. We usually add a little more tequila cause we just can't help ourselves!

Bacon Wrapped Pineapple and Water Chestnuts

Anytime I make these, they don't last very long. No need for changes on this one.

Eat Michigan Salad

This was good! I would sub out the cherries for dried cranberries next time, but other than that I thought this was a good change of pace.

I like these better than your everyday butter cookies. I like the spice! These were great for my sons birthday party where I set up a cookie decorating station.

Awesome! My husband was skeptical but he was quickly changed around after trying it. Good way to use up onions too. This is a great side dish for beef especially.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

So these were just ok. We were trying to do meatless Mondays but to no avail! I will have to stick to the real thing because we just didn't care for this that much. Love the idea though!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2014
Best rolls I've ever made! I don't have a bread maker anymore so I made this in my kitchen aid. I also didn't bother rolling them out into crescents either, I just rolled them into about 20 little rolls and let them rise the second time right on the pan.

Corned Beef and Cabbage II

I used beer instead of water. I also added a beef bouillon cube. This turned out sooo tender. It also made some of the best corned beef hash the next day.
