About this Cook
I'm small town Nebraska raised. I watched intently over my two amazing Grandmother's and learned their cooking as best I can. On my father's side, my grandmother would cook for 3 days prior to any family gathering dinner that usually included an assortment of kolaches, no less than 6 pies, cookies, peanut butter balls, etc etc etc.. and was always made all from scratch. She was most remembered for her dinner rolls. On my mother's side, my grandmother was all about the home cooking. I have her family-famous chocolate chip cookies and mashed potatoes down to a sciene. Now, it's up to me to pass on the legacy to my beautiful 4 year old daughter.

Mike's Magic
I made this nearly two years ago and forgot to review it. I thought the recipe would have a much better flavor with soy sauce, so I steadily mixed that in a few times throughout the cooking time. I left out the mint, ginger root, and the whole garlic cloves, but I got some minced garlic 'powder' and went slightly heavy on that instead. Otherwise, I followed everything pretty much as the recipe says. Myself, and my partner both LOVED it. Really, the soy sauce set it off real nice.

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze
I have never had a better filet mignon! I made mine with 6oz slabs and it took more like 20 minutes to get it to the correct level of medium-well that I prefer. Served with country-style mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus... omg it's just heaven!
