Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes
Did not care for the poultry seasoning. I will try again without it, because I think the other flavors were good. I liked the spicy sweet aspect.

Winter Lentil Vegetable Soup
This was really good! I also did not preboil the lentils since so many had good results without this step. It worked out fine. I doubled the garlic and the lentils. I did have to add some water, needed more liquid. Next time I may add more tomatoes or broth. I really liked the flavor combination of the seasonings. It had a somewhat Italian flavor with a bit of extra kick from the curry powder. But I would not consider it hot or spicey. It was good with a sprinkle of parmesan-yum! I also used a 28 oz can of diced tomatoes to save time. I will definitely make this again!

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic
This was the original pecan topped recipe that started it all! I have made this the past five years for Thanksgiving. To save time I had used canned sweet potatoes and eveyone loved it. (I live in the north so could get away with this, lol) This year I decided to bake the potatoes and make the authentic recipe. It was even way better this way! So if you must use canned it is still really good. But if possible, make the baked potato version and it is awesome! I baked and mashed my potatoes after work the day before Thanksgiving to save time and put the casserole together the next day; it worked out perfect. I will never use canned potatoes again! The potatoes slid right out of the skins once baked so no peeling was needed. Super easy! I baked mine for an hour though. The only other change I made this year was I used fat free half & half instead of heavy cream. It made no difference. Also when I had used canned potaotes in the past, I cut back on the sugar because they were sweetened already with syrup. If you want to bring a dish to impress the relatives, this is the one! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
