This was a great recipe. I had all the ingredients at hand. This was the first time I had swordfish. I will be making this dish again.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This is the first stew I have ever made. It came out good and turned out excellent the next day (even the day after that). I took other reviewers suggestions and seared the flour coated meat and added red wine. I didn't have worcestershire so I omitted it - will try it the next time.

Colene's Easy Tomato Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
This was a great recipe/base recipe. I added seasoning; more oregano, italian seasoning, garlic and some cayenne pepper. You can add any ingredient you wish to this recipe. I added celery and a can of beans I had on hand. We had it for dinner that night and left-overs the next day....it was even better the next day.

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
These were really easy, soft, chewy and delicious. I love the idea that I know exactly what I'm feeding my kids. I followed the advice of other reviewers and added a little more butter and honey. The second time I made them I added less chocalate chips and to give it a lighter texture I crumbled cheerios in the mix (1 cup of cheerios substituted 1 cup of oatmeal).

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
This is a great soup and a very forgiving dish. I began making this exactly as written and realized that I didn't have chicken broth. I used beef broth instead and it was very good. In reading other reviews I added 4 tbs of flour, a few more potatoes (with some skin) and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. I opted to stick with the full teaspoon of basil and added a dash of cayenne.

Cauliflower and Broccoli Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I loved this dish. It was wonderfull and easy to make. I followed some of the recommendations from other reviewers; I only added 1 3/4 cups of milk, additional seasoning - Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder. I did not have cayenne pepper so I subsituted paprika instead. I had this dish over some pasta and my husband and I really enjoyed it. I gave it 4 stars because I did need to add seasoning.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
This recipe was good. Not my favorite baked ziti as it really tasted like lasagna. I found that the sour cream or ricotta (which ever you prefer) was not enough. If I make this again I will cut back on the meat as it was to much and add 50% more sour cream/ricotta.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
These cookies were really good. I made as instructed but I did not refrigerate the mix before forming and they still came out good. I left one batch in for 10 minutes and they came out soft and chewy in the middle - just the way I like it. I left another batch in for 12 minutes and they came out crunchy - my husband likes crunchy. All in all the flavor was great.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
I've been looking for a white bread recipe for awhile. I have tried about 5 different recipes, all with great reviews. This one definetly is to my taste. I did as some reviewers suggested and cut back on the sugar and it was great. I halved the recipe and made this in my bread machine.

Alfredo Sauce

AMAZING! Will never buy alfredo sauce again. I added a bit more garlic and used regular milk. I used flour to thicken it up. My husband LOVED it!

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
This bean dip was very good. I followed the instructions until I realized I my sour cream was expired. I mixed 1 cup of milk with 1 Tb lemon juice to substitute and the dip was very good. It made a large quantity so I saved some and froze it. Hopefully it will keep well in the freezer.

New York Italian Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Loved this dough. I did mess up the timing a bit after I took it out of the refrigerator - I let it sit out too long and after cooking, it came out bread-like (thicker) but still had a great crunchy crust. I will definetly make this again.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2014
Amazing bread. I have one of the cheaper bread machines and have had issues with the bread rising. I upped the salt per one reviewer to 1.5 tsp. Worked great. Even the hubby likes it...and he doesn't like bread machine bread.

Laura's Easy Oatmeal Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
Really great bar. I made mine with cranberries and the combination was amazing. The first time I made it I only added 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup honey - other reviewers mentioned how crumbly they came out. Even with the honey addition these tasted great but fell apart. This original recipe would be amazing in yogurt since its crunchy and crumbly. I compared this recipe with a chewy granola recipe I have and the second time I made it I decided to add 1/3 cup of honey and the brown sugar to hot melted butter. Mixed this together and then added about 1/4 cup, or less, of flour to the dry ingredients. This worked out well and they held together like a crunchy - slightly chewy granola bar.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
I used this as a base recipe as we tend to like our food with more spice and flavor then most ppl. Here are the changes I made; 1 rottiserie chicken, 1 cup each - celery, onion, 1 cup+ carrots, 3/4 tsp garlic powder, double liquid using 3tsp chicken base, doubled spices - substituted parsley for Thyme and no celery salt, added 2 pinches of italian seasoning). These changes resulted in more filling then 1 pie. So I took another reviewers advise and with an extra pie crust I made 3 individual ramekin chicken pot pies - I froze these and look forward to eating them during lunch.
