Lobster Tails Steamed in Beer

Reviewed: May 1, 2013
These were wonderful! I used a pale ale beer and added one smashed garlic clove to the beer as it boiled. Also added a touch of Bay Seasoning to the tails before steaming. The timing in this recipe is perfect. The lobster came out so moist and tender. I can't wait to make this again!

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2013
This was delicious! I didn't have lemon on hand, so I substituted a very tart orange from our tree for the sauce, omitted the garlic from the sauce, and added extra garlic powder to the coating mixture. Also added some fresh spinach leaves in with the cream cheese and cheddar. Came out really really yummy! Will definitely be making this again soon. Thanks for the recipe!

Orange Cream Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Excellent! I'm someone who prefers cooking over baking or making desserts any day, but I have to say, I was pretty proud of myself in how this turned out :) I did as some other reviewers suggested and used powdered sugar in place of the granulated sugar. It looked beautiful and tasted sooo good! I can't wait to make this again for Easter!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
This is my go-to biscuit recipe from now on. I've made these now three times, each time resulting in biscuit deliciousness! :) The third time I cut them slightly thicker than recipe states, left them a little longer in the oven, and they came out huge and fluffy good! These biscuits rock!

Yummy stuffing! I used turkey sausage in place of the pork and used only 2 apples (honey crisp). Really delicious!

Perfect Turkey

Perfect bird everytime! Used a 12-lb turkey, so only used 1 cup salt. Also added whole peppercorns and fresh sage leaves to brine liquid.

We loved this! My daughter likened this to Starbucks' hot vanilla creme non-coffee drink. Super yummy and we'll be making this often from now on.

Sausage and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Wonderful. Used 8 eggs, as suggested by previous reviews for a 9x13 dish, and also used sourdough sliced bread that I cubed. Sauteed some sliced red bell pepper in the oil left over from browning the sausage and let the sausage and pepper drain on paper towels before adding to dish. Really easy to prepare and LOVE that it's made the night before -- great timesaver! Absolutely delicious and can't wait to make it again!

Maple Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Made this recipe into muffins for Father's Day brunch, and they received rave reviews! The only change I made (since I didn't have any ripe bananas and had to use ones a little on the unripened side, which yielded less of that good banana sweetness) was to add some light brown sugar to my tasting and some chopped pecans. Baked them at 350 for 25 mins. Moist, delicious muffins!

Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
Can't wait for leftovers tonight! Everyone loved it :) I also used 1/3 cup of water with a small bit of chicken boullion added in, one taco seasoning packet and some garlic powder along with the chili powder. I left out the red pepper flakes for the kids. Next time, however, I think I'll try this without adding any liquid...the pork seemed to yield enough of its own juices. I took the pork out of the pot and onto a cutting board to pull it apart and remove any remaining fat. Then I added the meat back in to simmer with the juices. Really excellent! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe :)

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: May 20, 2013
This is a new favorite in our house! I think this is a great make-ahead dish and it's easy to modify to suit your tastes. I used taco seasoning instead of the chili powder and salt and also used ground turkey. I added garlic powder to the meat while browning and added a splash of water to the taco seasoning. Instead of taco sauce, I used half a small can of Rotel mild chiles and tomatoes to add to the dish before adding the shells and then used the rest of the can over the top along with some marinara sauce (I also skipped buttering the shells). Added some black olives to the top before adding the cheeses. This was very tasty! So glad to have leftovers! Thanks for the recipe :)

The Best Meatloaf I've Ever Made

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
Oh wow, this was awesome! I had to improvise slightly with what I had on hand, but just two small changes: Used plain stuffing cubes I had in the freezer in place of the toasted bread and used condensed tomato bisque soup in place of the tomato sauce (added a little less water to the soup than usual to keep it saucy and then used the 15 oz called for in the recipe; also used the soup to coat the top the last 15 mins of cooking). Pressed some whole stuffing cubes into the bottom of the loaf to help soak up some of the juices. This tasted soooo good! Thank you for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
This turned out wonderfully! Used leftover ham instead of the sausage, 8 cups of water as suggested in previous reviews with two large boullion cubes quartered and substituted oregano (none on hand) with italian seasoning. Tossed in some peppercorns as well. Set on low for 8 hours in the crock and came home to dinner..Thank you for the recipe :)
