Zucchini Provencal

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
This is a great and simple recipe for a side dish. It is great as described. For extra zip add a packet of zesty Italian dressing mix. YUMMY The family always asks for seconds. It rarely makes it to the leftover pile. This is also super flexible. I have added kale, chard and other greens in conjunction and it never fails.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
Double this recipe because everyone will want more. This is terrific just as is. Of course you can tweak it if you want, but don't need to. This became the hit of the meal and it was just a side dish. Thanks for a classic excellent mac and cheese. Great for kids and adults.

This is a great and easy recipe. I used chicken breasts cut in thirds and marinated over night. Worked great. Will definitely make again.

Orange Rosemary Chicken

Great easy chicken recipe. The flavor of orange and rosemary makes it very interesting. I used chicken breasts and it worked just fine, reduce the cooking time a bit. This is a keeper.

Pretzel Turtles

These are really simple and super fun to make. You can get the kids involved as well. Go ahead and make double. Just be sure to store them in an airtight container or bag. Also don't put them near hot dishes as they can remelt and slide around. Enjoy!

Libby's® Famous Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
This is the classic and always great pumpkin pie from our childhood. Perfect recipe every time. Be sure to get the deep dish pie crusts as it makes a lot of filling. If there is too much filling for the crust, put it in a small pyrex dish and bake about half as long as the pie. It makes an excellent custard that the kids who don't like pie crust gobble up.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

This recipe is fantastic and just downright good. It has a fresh fruity flavor that doesn't disappoint. I substitute butter instead of shortening since I had it on hand. Great easy recipe. We even eat these for breakfast.

Apple Dumpling Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
Great cake that is super moist and not overly sweet. Made this a few times. Use any type of apples except the bitter ones. No granny smith or such. Fuji apples are my preference but any others will do. Easy and delicious. The top will look bumpy but I serve with a dollop of cinnamon whipped cream.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
Very rich and delightful frosting. This is more buttery than sweet which is excellent. Ended up using only half of the milk as I wanted a bigger frosting. Will definitely use this again.

Bananas Foster Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
Followed the recipe exactly for a large family breakfast and this turned out wonderful. The sweetness of the traditional monkey bread is cut by the bananas and less sugar. Use a bundt pan to cook it more evenly inside and out instead of a loaf pan. This also spreads the sauce more evenly and melts the sugar. The easy biscuit shortcut makes this a great brunch item or breakfast for a crowd on short notice. Fantastic!

This is a great alternative to traditional blueberry muffins. The cornmeal adds great texture and flavor without being too sweet. Made this several times and comes out perfect according to the recipe.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Dessert

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
This is a great recipe and a family favorite. I usually modify recipes and only make two minor modifications to this one. Used half brown sugar half white sugar. This makes is a bit more flavorful. Also increased the vanilla almost double. This comes out great every time. Agree with the previous reviewer. Don't bother rolling out the rolls. Just lay them in the pan and pinch the seams together. Done this several times and it is quicker, easier and cleaner than rolling out the dough. The out of the tube size fits perfectly in the 9 x13 pan. Excellent recipe!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
What a great easy and interesting flavored cheesecake. This is not as sweet as it may sound. The flaky crescent roll layers really puff and the cream cheese mixture smooths it all out. You don't need to massage the crescent dough much. I just laid them in the pan and squeezed the breaks together. Even had one triangle separate, just pinched back to gether and it worked great. The combination of flavors is fantastic. Actually substittued a bit of brown sugar for the white sugar, about half and half for a bit more flavor. Also doubled the vanilla. Fantastic for people who want something sweet and savory.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Outstanding marinade that works perfectly with salmon. Great combination of flavors slightly asian but a bit more robust with the red pepper and worcestershire sauce. Made this exactly to recipe and it works perfectly. New family favorite.

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
This is a fantastic and flexible frosting recipe. This pairs perfectly with lighter cakes and cupcakes such as German chocolate. It is a bit heavier and sweeter as stated. The second time I added dark chocolate about 2 ounces and reduced the powdered sugar to 2 cups. It was excellent on buttermilk yellow cupcakes with a more chocolatey flavor The sour cream keeps the frosting from getting crusty. Holds well for a few days. Fantastic

Brownie Batter + Cupcake = The SECOND BEST Cupcake. Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
I could not get this recipe to work. The brownie mix came out too heavy and they never cooked properly. Perhaps this could be reworked. The lighter cake mix was interesting. The two sections separated when trying to take out of the pan. Good idea, didn't work.
