Creamed Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
It was good but I changed a bunch of things that I think made it a lot better. First I used left over roast beef that I cross cut so it made short fibers. I also added 1 tsp each of salt, pepper and tarragon and used frozen mixed vegetables instead of just peas. I cut back the milk to 3 cups and used 3 T corn starch instead of all that flour to thicken it. The tarragon really adds a nice touch.

D' Best Chicken N' Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
The chicken part was very good but the dumplings were just short of terrible. They were flat, doughy and chewy. I questioned whether the recipe said baking powder instead of baking soda as they didn't raise at all but it says baking soda so that's what I used. Maybe southerners like them like that but even Bisquick is much better.

Pork Marsala

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
Really good. I substituted Melot for Marsala because I wanted to drink the rest of the bottle. I thought it would be a good recipe but as I ate it it tasted better with every bite. 2 thumbs and 10,000 taste buds up!

The Best Chocolate Cake You Ever Ate

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
It's a good recipe but i wish I'd read some more the reviews before I made it. The cinnamon is completely overpowering and chocolate light. If I make this again it will be with 1/2 the cinnamon and twice the cocoa. I also had to bake it 30 minutes so the middle didn't pour out. I doubled the cocoa in the frosting to make up for the cake and it tasted sweet and weak without it but it was good. Slightly warming the frosting (I just stuck the metal mixing bowl in the cooling down oven for a bit) made it pour nicely.
