I live with my husband and cat in a small suburb outside of Milwaukee. I have a teaching degree and cannot wait to start my own family someday. My husband being a very picky eater, I have learned to be crafty with my cooking to slowly convert him from his "Bachelor-style" eating (ex: pizza, fried chicken, beer, and potato chips, etc...) and so far have been extremely successful and I love learning new ways to cook and exploring other crafts for home life.
My favorite things to cook
I love Italian cooking. Stuffed Shells is BY FAR my favorite thing to make for dinner. I also love making sherried beef in the slow cooker. I recently have been looking into making gourmet candies and cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mothers side of the family came from Germany, so I grew up on genuine German cuisine. I was also taught how to make many traditional German dishes. Unfortunately my husband is British, so his tastebuds are still in transition :-P My fathers family is from the deep south, so there are a lot of Creole dishes I have made for family functions.
My cooking triumphs
The best success have been probably my homemade stuffed butternut squash with bulk sausage stuffing from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
I tried a new recipe for homemade creamed spinach and my husband hated it. It was so terrible that our black lab (AKA- bottomless pit) wouldn't even touch it :-/
