Corn Dog Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
My husband loved this and I thought it was pretty good, too, but maybe just a bit dry. Used onion powder instead of onions because my husband can't eat onions. Otherwise made it exactly as it written. I think this would be very kid friendly too.

Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
Made this on Saturday night. Rubbed the ribs down with a BBQ dry rub just because I had some on hand the night before. After that followed recipe except put ribs on grill for final cooking and they were tremendous. I have always had such a hard making ribs for some reason, but thought I would give it one more shot and glad I did. A keeper and the only way I will make ribs from now on. Used Sweet Baby Rays sauce. Terrific.

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
We really liked this recipe. I did roast in oven (3 hrs at 300) instead of slow cooker because I had a great new pot I wanted to try. At the end when I removed the ribs, I placed the liquid in a separator to get extra fat out and then made gravy. So very delicious.

Mushroom Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
I had high expectations, but for me, this did not deliver. Not sure, but maybe the quality of the swiss cheeese I used was not good, so can't blame the recipe for that.

Sausage Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
I hate to change anything when I first try a recipe, but I am not a big fan of cottage cheese, so I used Riccotta. This was delicous. I also made Mike's Mushroom Bread to go along with it. Everyone loved both.

Laura's Lemon Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
Really, really good and smells great while in the oven. I smashed the garlic and left them whole so they would flavor oil/butter and I could take them out easily if they started burning, whichthey did a bit, but not a problem.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Fantastic. The only thing I did differently was change the quantity to feed 18 and it was fabulous. Next time, though, I would definitely temper the sour cream before adding it to the soup. You must try this!

Chinese Cold Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
I thought these were very good. I did not use a blender or mixer. I put first few ingredients in bowl and then added hot pasta and it was pretty easy to blend that way. Watch the red pepper - very hot! Tried both cold and warm and definitely preferred serving this warm. Really good!

Chinese Fried Walnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
These were a big hit at a recent family party. I doubled the recipe and used half walnuts and half pecans. Think I liked the walnuts better, but both were very good. Thanks for the recipe!

Deer Chop Hurry

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2002
This was really tasty. I, too, am not the biggest fan of deer meat, but the venison was absolutely delicious. My husband works hard to get his deer, so I try to find various ways to use it and this was excellent.
