About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mexican-American family used to make tamales all day, the day after Thanksgiving. All four families got 3-4 dozen tamales at the end, to freeze and put away for a month. When Christmas came around, whoever was hosting that year had Christmas dinner already prepared! What great memories- of laughing in the kitchen together, and eating fabulous food.

Left-Over Turkey Pot Pie
Delicious - we used Penzeys Poultry Seasoning in lieu of the dried sage/dried thyme. Might want to add two pinches of salt as well, as that is a salt-free seasoning, but otherwise delicious flavor with the leftover turkey, mixed veggies, roux base, garlic and onions. Nice way to re-use leftovers from Thanksgiving.
