Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2013
This recipe was a huge hit at a potluck party recently. Everyone wanted the recipe. Some thought it tasted like caramel, others were reminded of cookie dough. Either way it pleased us all. And not only was it delicious, it was quick and easy to make. Love it!

Chard Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2013
Love this recipe! It's easy to make, tasty and surprisingly filling. Our family prefers hard taco shells to corn tortillas, but it's good either way.

Broccoli, Leek, and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
I loved this soup, but can't give it 5 stars as I didn't make it, and wouldn't have like it, as directed. I left out the bacon and used vegetable broth in place of chicken stock (to make it vegetarian), put in 1/4 tsp of pepper instead of 1 tbsp (because 1 tbsp sounded like an insane amount of pepper), used heavy whipping cream instead of milk (because yum!), cut out the 2 tbsps of butter and used only 1 tbsp olive oil (because of the fat in the whipping cream), used 1 1/2 tsps of salt and didn't purée it (why on earth wouldn't you want to eat all those great chunks of vegetables?). But then, OMG was it great!

Pasta with Fennel and Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
I cut the oil in this recipe in half because I'm watching my calories and this dish was still really greasy. If I make it again, I will try halving the olive oil again to bring it down to 2 tbsp. I liked the flavors, but my daughter and my husband thought it was just so so.

Chocolate Heart Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I agree with previous reviewers that cookies were not sweet enough and needed an egg to moisten the dough. I was surprised there wasn't any salt (a flavor enhancer) so I added some. I also found them a little too dry, so I took out some flour the second time around. I didn't like them much to start with (although my daughter and husband did). But I ended up liking them after changing the recipe by using: - 1 c sugar (instead of 1/2) - 1 egg (instead of 0) - 1/2 tsp salt (instead of 0) - 1 3/4 c flour (instead of 2) I really liked them with raspberry jam, but my daughter preferred the white chocolate.
