About this Cook
I am a mother of 11. I homeschool and stay at home with the kids most of the time. I just became a Zumba instructor and now teach two classes a week. My husband and I work out together during the week. We are trying to find a healthier lifestyle and are enjoying the journey! We also try to keep God the center of our lives, love Him very much!
My favorite things to cook
I like to do things that are quick and easy most of the time. We cook more during the holidays. We got hooked on homemade pita bread this summer. My family loves potatoe soup and grilling outdoors and of course great cookies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We like baking at Christmas time. Fudge, sugar cookies, pumpkin pie, chex mix, and we experiment some every year. Potato soup on Christmas Eve, it's easy and can be done early so we can do other things to get ready, like wrapping.
My cooking triumphs
My kids love my pancakes better than anyone elses, it's my own recipe so I am pleased with that.
My cooking tragedies
One time years ago, I used baking soda in some biscuits instead of baking powder...yuck. I always double check now! lol

Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce
We have made this several times now and it is a family favorite! It is good just the way it is, but I like to cut the sugar to 2.5 cups, I also add a half teaspoon of salt. AMAZING!!! It is better, with real butter than margarine, but works either way. It is simply the best I have ever had and I am a picky eater!

Chewy Brownie Cookies
I made them exactly as written, but I wasn't impressed. They really weren't that chewy. They were ok, I was expecting more of a brownie type cookie. They were just a chocolate cookie and I have a recipe that I like much better for a chocolate, chocolate chip cookie. They did get eaten by the kids, but they all said they liked my other recipe better. I guess when we want something like a brownie, we will make brownies. :)

Maple Bacon Pancake
I have made this 3 times now and we like it because it is quick to make up and all the kids like it. I use my own pancake recipe and it works well. The last time I made it, I put some left over pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice in it. A big hit! We always use sausage (maple flavor) because I never buy bacon. This is a versatile, convenient, easy recipe that is simple enough that my picky eaters like it. Thanks for the idea!
