Polvorones de Canele (Cinnamon Cookies)

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
These actually turned out really good...I tasted them when they were warm and I was ready to throw them away. But when my husband got home, he tried them and loved them. I tried them again and these cookies are definitely cookies that need to be cooled down before eaten. After they cooled down, they tasted just what I expected them to taste. Will definitely make again.

The Best Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
Used this marinade on some skirt steak. I didn't have time to marinade for 2 hours, so it just marinade for like 30 minutes. It came out amazing! My husband kept on asking if I used a store bought marinade or something from the cooking website! He coudn't believe it! This marinade is definitely a keeper and will use over and over!

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
This pie is sinfully good...I got rave reviews from everyone especially my husband. I wanted to make this for Thanksgiving so I did a test run days before and everyone said the recipe was a keeper! I did take some of the suggestions from others and added 2 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. cinnamon. The pie is gooey, which I like, but if you dont like it gooey, it would be recommended that you add 1Tbsp. Flour. Will definitely make this pie again.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

This recipe was a huge hit with my family. At family BBQ's everyone always looks for it. The marinade is so versatile and I have used it successfully with beef and shrimp. This is already a family favorite.

Broiled Lobster Tails

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
This is the first time I make lobster tails and they came out great! I love the idea about making them in the broiler. I used 'I Cant Believe Its Not Butter Light' to reduce calories and that worked out great. Will definitely make again.

This recipe is so easy and the chicken came out so moist!!! Will definitely continue making over and over! I took the advise of others and I marinaded my chicken before I put it in the freezer and when I need it, it will be ready to go!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
Amazing cookies!!! Crispy edges and chewy centers...they literally melt in your mouth! I've made these cookies a couple of times and I have to say that my favorite was making them exactly as the recipe calls! The key is to make sure to REFRIGERATE for enough time to allow the butter to cool down--without this crucial step any cookie recipe with butter will not turn out. The first time I made this recipe, I read the reviews and I took other people's advice and added 1/4 more of both peanut butter and flour but I was not so impressed with those results as it makes the cookie more bready. Will definitely be making these over and over! I make a double batch and freeze the remainder of the dough in ziploc bags and when I have company I defrost and bake...they come out as if they were freshly made. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Fantastic Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
This bread came out fantastic just like the title says it...my husband and I finished it in no time. I had tried a couple of other recipes but they would not come out. This recipe was great. For those of you that it did not rise, it is all about having patience and using the right yeast. I used the Red Star Quick Rise yeast and that one works great. You have to make sure the yeast is activated and you can tell because it looks all bubbly and creamy. I followed the dough recipe to the dot but added seasonings at the end. I dimpled the dough and added pieces of garlic in them. Over the top of the bread I added powdered garlic, some salt and italian seasonings before I baked it. Tastes great by itself or in sandwiches.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
This was the best scampi I have ever had! I doubled the recipe and I followed the recipe as is except for I used half olive oil and half butter. I made the scampi over rice pasta and to dress the pasta, I basically reserved half of the marinade and sauteed the marinade until the garlic was cooked and then I added the cooked pasta into it. Afterwards, I tossed in the grilled shrimp that were still a little under cooked and tossed in the pan, until it all cooked thoroughly. I just topped it with crushed red pepper. Tasted amazing! This recipe will definitely become a staple in my kitchen!

These biscuits came out great...very flaky just like a biscuit should be. Even my husband said this one was a keeper! I followed the recipe as is except I replaced the shortening with butter to reduce trans fat. Will definitely make again and again!

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
Best pie crust ever! I used earth balance butter instead of shortening and made the crust in my food processor. It was so easy that I dont even know why I had been so scared of making pie crusts. However, I do think the key is to make sure all the ingredients are as cold as possible! I have used this recipe a couple of times already and the crust comes out perfect and flakey every time! This recipe is a keeper!

Chicken Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
Amazingly easy and delicious gravy! My husband loved it! I made some sauted chicken breasts on the stovetop with garlic and Pappy's seasoning. When that was done, I used that pan with leftover droppings to make the gray in. I just added the chicken stock and cornstarch, and then salt and pepper to taste.

Cheddar Puff Biscuits

These tasted very good but they were not flaky or rise as much as I would have liked. I added a tsp. of baking powder as recommended by another reviewer but even then they did not rise as desired.
