About this Cook
I have been married for 27 years and have two grown sons 21 & 26. We live in the beautiful Flathead Valley in Montana. Love to cook, bead and read mysteries. Love to picnic in Glacier and around Flathead Lake.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything Mexican, especially enchiladas verde. I am known for my Chicken n Dumplings but can not give out the recipe since I don't have one just throw it all together until it tastes good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I learned to cook from my grandmother even though we lived so far apart when I was with her I took it all in. She is who taught me to make Chicken n Dumplings. She also taught me to put love in as the main ingredient.
My cooking triumphs
I have mastered the perfect pecan pie. I also make really good biscuits and gravy.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to impress my new husband with bbq and I put the burgers on the grill before the starter fluid had burned off. Needless to say we threw out a lot of burgers and hot dogs that day and ordered pizza.

Caramelized Turnips
Fantastic! Doubled the recipe and used brown sugar substitute and light Blue Bonnet.....great for Weight Watchers. Only 2 points for the whole recipe. Sprinkled a little cayenne pepper on it to give it a kick and it was so good. You have to try this recipe!

Taco Seasoning I
This is a great recipe, much better than store bought and so much cheaper. I make my taco meat in 3 lb. batches and so I triple this and add all of it and an 8 oz. can of ro-tel tomato sauce, not the tomatoes the sauce. Wonderful, you have to try it :)
