Fried Garlic Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
I definitely don't use two cups of olive oil, but I do use quite a bit, as well as a good chunk of butter. When I make it for myself, I just use half a bulb of garlic. I also add a medium tomato, and LOTS of pepper! Basically, this is a good recipe to build on. Don't be afraid of the garlic, it doesn't even taste garlicky.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
I now put oatmeal in all of my smoothies. So good. I suggest squirting some honey in the blender, too (unless you are vegan, of course).

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
I love that there is actually a recipe for grilled cheese, as if no one has made it before! But, as mentioned, definitely a good place to post variations. What I do is sprinkle a good amount of garlic salt on the butter and on the cheese. Mmmmm. I generally use some sort of cheddar. I've made it with jalepeno havarti, too! SO. GOOD.

Eclairs II

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
I was so nervous making these! I didn't really know what I was doing, but they still turned out pretty great. I would have liked a little more direction on how thick to make the batter on the sheet. I obviously used waaaay too much because I ended up with three giant éclaires that survived, and two that were sort of collapsed inside. As well, my filling was a little on the runny side, and I had way too much. However, the runnyness might have been because I had to use soy milk to make the pudding as I didn't have cow's milk, and the excess filling was likely due to the fact that I had only 3 giant éclaires. I think I would still suggest halving the filling recipe, though.

Beer Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
These are GLORIOUS. I made them tonight after running out of milk making regular pancakes, and these tasted far better than the normal ones. I even used crummy beer (Blue Light) that had been just sitting in the fridge. I ended up adding a little more flour to the batter, though, because it seemed a little runny. As well, keep a close eye on these, because they burn much more easily than your regular pancake. I'm definitely making these again.
