About this Cook
I'm a twentysomething university student majoring in French to English translation. I like video games, acting, and wearing scarves. My favourite drink is tea, earl grey, hot.
My favorite things to cook
I am supreme master of figuring out what to put on pasta. I also specialize in chocolate pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is British, so we have some unique and delicious holiday cooking traditions. My favourite is real British trifle with brandy and everything in it.
My cooking triumphs
So far I haven't set anything on fire.
My cooking tragedies
I still cannot make cinnamon rolls.

Fried Garlic Pasta
I definitely don't use two cups of olive oil, but I do use quite a bit, as well as a good chunk of butter. When I make it for myself, I just use half a bulb of garlic. I also add a medium tomato, and LOTS of pepper! Basically, this is a good recipe to build on. Don't be afraid of the garlic, it doesn't even taste garlicky.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie
I now put oatmeal in all of my smoothies. So good. I suggest squirting some honey in the blender, too (unless you are vegan, of course).

Grilled Cheese Sandwich
I love that there is actually a recipe for grilled cheese, as if no one has made it before! But, as mentioned, definitely a good place to post variations. What I do is sprinkle a good amount of garlic salt on the butter and on the cheese. Mmmmm. I generally use some sort of cheddar. I've made it with jalepeno havarti, too! SO. GOOD.
