We made these pancakes for the first time today. We followed the recipe exact and then towards the end of cooking, added some milk to thin the batter as it had become quite thick while setting. We also added blueberries to some of the pancakes and they turned out great. Definately better to use fresh buttermilk, but as other reviewers said-freeze your leftovers and microwave it next time you need it. A definate must-melt the butter first and LET IT COOL...if yuou don't, you'll get chunky butter which cooled too fast, or worse-cooked eggs in the batter.
