About this Cook
I am 28 years old, and have been cooking as long as I can remember, starting with helping my mom and grandmas, and then trying things on my own once I moved away from home. I love cooking and especially trying out new recipes. My boyfreind loves trying my new dishes and helping me rate them. One of my boyfriend's single friends regularly comes over regularly to have dinner at our house. I enjoy cooking for a group of people, and am looking forward to cooking for my own family in the future.
My favorite things to cook
Lasanga, Italian dishes, Chili, Soups, Desserts, Main Dishes, Rueben Casserole, I am enjoying learning the fine art of Grilling, Good venison recipes, I am always on the lookout for quick but delicious dinners. I am also enjoying learning how to can from my mom.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The big holiday dinners, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. Canning vegetables from the garden, Learning how to make Lefse from my boyfriends parents for special occasions, especially the holidays
My cooking triumphs
I invited my entire family to our house for Thanksgiving this year, and made the entire dinner myself. Everyone said that everything was delicious. I was very proud of myself for not screwing anything up and for having dinner on the table at the scheduled time!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a Chicken Leek Pot Pie, and it was one of the most horrible things I have ever tasted. We had to throw it away and order pizza because it was so terrible. The crust was terrible, the filling was terrible, it was all bad no matter how you looked at it.

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze
This did not turn out well. The glaze didn't really turn into a glaze, it was very liquidy, and I felt too strong for the beef.

Traditional Reuben Casserole
I have made this a few times, twice for potluck, and it was very well received. I have had several people ask for the recipe.

Cabbage Burgers
Kind of bland in flavor, I would probably add some spices next time. I also modified half of the filling because my boyfriend doesn't like cabbage. I added dill pickle relish and shredded cheese. He thought that version was delicious. I don't know if I would make this again because it seemed like a big production to put them together and bake.
