Basic Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
all i can say is WOW. this was absolutely fantastic. I added some portobello mushrooms, garlic, and 1 small onion to the beef while it was browning. Normally when I make speghetti i find that it is a little bit watery and I can never figure out why. This was thick and cheesy and friggin amazing.

Sylvia's Ribs

These ribs were definitely fall off the bone, which was fantastic. I really liked this recipe and will do it agian. I found the sauce to be too sweet, though I didnt use steak sauce so maybe that's what it was missing.

Newfoundland-Style Pea Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
I thought this recipe was delicious. I found "salt beef" at my local grocery store as "naval beef". It came frozen in a big tub. I used about 5 pieces of the beef, but off all the fat and was left with a bit less than a pound of small cubed beef. I used 3 cups of split peas instead of two, and also used about 12 cups of water. I added water every 20 min or so, everytime it seemed to simmer down a lot. I didnt soak the peas or the meat. I had to boil the meat and peas for 2 hours before adding the vegtables.

Caldo Verde (Portuguese Green Soup)

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I thought this soup tasted absolutely fabulous..I didn't think it would have very much flavour since there isnt really any seasoning in it (except salt) but the flavour was wonderful. A total comfort soup. My only complaint is that there wasnt enough to go around! Next time I'll add a little bit more of everything to ensure that there are leftovers for the next day.
