Baklava

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
Very good. Only had it once at a gyro takeout restaurant and thought I would try to make better. This was twice as good! Little time consuming but now that I know what im doing it should be faster next time.

Chompo Bars

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
Didn't like the combination. too much topping for me and my wife and flavor for whatever reason was just kind of plain and didn't seem to go together very well.

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
Very Rich but I love rich :) I can see how it may be overpowering for the weaker ones. I didn't have any problems with it being grainy but I do have a stand mixer with the whisk attachment and let the eggs whisk up for 5 mins a piece. Giving it only 4 stars because the wife thought it was too rich.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
These tasted very good! I made almost exactly as described except adding a tbsp of milk to the cookie batter. It did help to kind of pat the cookie mixture out and roll it up around the peanut butter ball. I didn't refrigerate or anything and didn't run into problems. These set up like a normal peanut butter cookie which slightly harden more while cooling so don't be too tempted to leave them in much longer than the 7-9 mins.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Awesome! I used the make without bread machine method of dissolving about 2 and 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast in the warm milk before adding all the other ingredients in my kitchenaid. after kneaded well with the dough hook i covered it and put it in the 200degree turned off oven for a hour. I then turned on to a floured mat and covered for another 10mins. Then rolled it out as instructed in the directions.followed the ingredients for the roll perfectly! I placed them in the baking dish on parchment paper and sprayed it for good measure. Placed it in the fridge overnight and left it covered with a towel on the oven in the morning while it preheated to 350. Baked for about 25 mins I would say. On the frosting I used 4oz's of cream cheese because thats what I had left over from another recipe and used the same amount sugar and other ingredients. I did turn it out on a baking sheet lined with tinfoil for easy clean up and dripped all of the goodness on top of it. I then used a rubber spatula to spread the cream cheese over the top. So Yummy!

Brown Sugar Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Very good brownie recipe. I added the suggested 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips and yes it was a very thick batter but it made it thick enough that I could press it into my pan with my hands. I used a 8 X 12 pyrex dish and used a single batter didnt double like a lot of people did and it came out fine however I wouldnt want to go much bigger than that. Keeping this recipe pretty yummy.

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
We made this and it may eventually would have turned out but the cook time must be WAY off. We took it out and it looked done and was even pulling apart from the sides of the pan and even after cooling it came out like raw cookie dough with a weird crust at the top. Only part I could eat was the very edges which is why I gave it two stars. If the whole thing turned out like the edges than it would have been a decent brownie in terms of taste. Should be called "Disappointing Marshmallow Brownies" because the smell had me pretty excited...

Chocolate Coated Peanut Butter Crackers

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
We make these every Christmas. We use almond bark without shortening. Heat the almond bark up as usual in the microwave and dip the peanutbutter crackers in the chocolate and lay on wax paper to cool. We don't worry about the fridge although that would make the drying process faster its just easier for us to leave them out to dry. Reminds me of the girl scout cookies (tagalongs) if you use the chocolate almond bark!

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
Made just as described on ingredients did use a slightly smaller plan but kind of wished I didnt personally I would have liked the cake a bit thinner as opposed to the thicker. Reminded me a lot of those donut sticks you can get from little debbie! but better

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
baked in a 8x8 pan because I didnt have a 9x9 turned out great. Moist and chewy good!! I had apple that was ready to be eaten and thought I would see if i could find a quick easy recipe to use it in. THIS IS IT! I do think the topping is a bit excessive probably next time I make them I will cut the topping down to maybe half.
