Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
I followed the recipe as written. It's very tasty but I wish there was more about the baking process. This was the first time to bake a pound cake and using a bunt pan. I did spray down my pan but I filled it out too much. I wasn't sure how much it would rise. The increase was about 15 -20% which over flowed the bunt pan and landed in the bottom of my oven. No biggie, except for the smoke it created . :) The baking time was longer than the 1 hour and 15 minutes. For me it was closer to 1 1/2 hour. Then, I couldn't get the silly cake out of the bunt pan. :( I gave up and just cut slices of pound cake out of the pan. It tasted delicious. I will make this again. However, I will follow the lead of the other reviewers who split the receipt into two pans. I would have given the recipe 5/5 stars but the baking directions need to explained more for us newbies. :)

Chef John's Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
Great recipe! It's easy and quick to make. I've made this soup twice already and my husband and kids love it. Also the video that goes along with it wonderful. Love the art jokes in it too. I didn't change a thing.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Well, we love these cookies! They are quick, easy, and taste great. Even my 4 year old cookie connoisseur loved them, even without sprinkles or frosting! They remind me of cookies I use to buy, as a kid, at the local Chinese carryout in our neighborhood. I will agree they do spread allot. Give them room to grow. Also, I added a bit more vanilla then recommended. That was all I changed. The cookies are just right on the sweetness scale. Thanks for the great recipe!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VI

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
We loved the recipe. I am currently baking my second batch. My two kids and husband loved them. They were gone in two days and asking for more. The changes I made, which was mentioned before, was adding nutmeg about 1/2 tsp or so, 1/2 tsp of salt. They taste great! Thank you for the recipe!
