About this Cook
I come from a family that loves to cook...and I mean from scratch. No box dinners! My dad was phenomenal and both my grandma's are too. My mom is a good a baker. Lucky me, I inherited all of the good cooking/baking genes! I'm mine own worst critic on my food, everyone will tell me they love it and it's the best they've eaten...and I'll say it was ok...could do something different next time. :)
My favorite things to cook
Any dessert of any kind. Italian dinners seem to always turn out amazing. Alfredo and spaghetti sauce from scratch, manicotti shells from scratch. Love to make appetizers also.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All the pitch-ins that we do for Easter, Mother's Day, Christmas, and Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
Homemade manicotti with homemade spaghetti sauce. Homemade meatballs and sauce. Chicken and dumplings, BBQ ribs in the oven, from scratch man n cheese. Lasagna.
My cooking tragedies
Yeast bread machine here, all kneading and rising done by me. but they didn't get very big and they were not very soft...people still ate them and said they were good though.

Chef John's Perfect Prime Rib
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! As many other reviewers, I was also nervous. I did however keep a meat thermometer in it while in the that has a cord to outside the oven so you can read the temp! And I let it get to 120 and took it out of the oven. So it was rare, instead of medium rare. Served it with his recipe for au jus! YUM!!! Prime rib is at a local grocer now due to Easter. I will be going back and getting another to make this recipe again! AWESOME! And I did find Herbs du Provence too! YAY! Everyone loved it!!! It is foolproof!!!

Tiramisu II
This is soooo good!!! Let it sit in the fridge 2-3 days before you intend to serve it. Make sure you use really strong coffee and double if not triple the coffee/rum mixture. This is THE BEST!!!!

Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions
Followed the recipe to a "T" and made it with venison italian sausage. YUMMY! This went into a pasta bake that night. The next couple of days we had sandwiches with them topped with melted mozzarella and provolone!
