Thai-Style Grapefruit and Prawn

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
Excellent! Delivers everything promised! Love it! Can use pre-packaged cooked prawns if you like. Perhaps not an authentic Thai recipe, but then the title DOES say it's Thai-style.

Blooming Onion and Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
I actually want to give 4.5, because I just can't bring myself to give 5. I haven't put my finger on exactly why I don't want to give full marks; as others have said, there is an elusive something "missing". That said, this is very, very good indeed. The sauce is very good, and others have done this with onion rings, so it is worthwhile keeping it! The "blooming" part is quite labour-intensive, and I got it right 3 out of 4 times!

Dad's Magic Bar Olives

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
Really excellent and worth the prep time. And you can use other cheeses if you like, make it as spicy as you want by adding chilli flakes and so on and so on. But the recipe is superb just as it stands.

Super, super, super (and I beat Phil to doing it with the larger olives, so extra points for that!)

Surekha's Chilli Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
Great addition, Phil. Thanks for reminding me of it. Haven't done that one for at least 15 years. And so versatile, it doesn't have to be a chicken recipe, It's usually a vegetarian option for me. I also add some oriental noodles into the final few minutes of cooking, and serve the whole thing in a soup bowl.
