Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
Did as others suggested and used 1 c ketchup, 1 small onion, diced, 1 clove of garlic, 1 1/2 tbsps brown sugar, 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce and 2 tbsp soy sauce. Cooked as directed for 7 hours. Removed ribs and placed in baking dish in oven for 20 min (375 degreesF). Did not preboil ribs either. At about noon mouthes were watering waiting for dinner tonight. Excellent recipe with awesome suggestions.

Chocolate Orange Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Made as written but added 3/4 tsp. of orange extract - found it a bit too much - will only add 1/2 tsp. next time. Very easy and very delish

Tangy Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
Made the recipe exactly as written and would not change a thing. I doubled the dumpling ingredients to make more and they came out perfect. This has been added as a keeper in my book. (only suggestino is to make sure you dry the lid before replacing over the dumplings).

Pasta Fagioli

Awesome recipe - as per others added 1/2 lb of bacon; used 14 oz can of diced tomatoes in place of fresh; drained cannelli beans and added 1 c fresh spinach. Also cooked pasta separately. Result = incredibly filling, tasty recipe that husband enjoyed three bowls of for dinner.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Loved this recipe. Cooked bacon, drained and then added garlic and a medium onion sliced very fine. Sauted for a couple fo minutes and then added about 2 tsp italian seasoning and 2 cans of tomatos for extra sauce. As tomatos heated stired in spinach and then as others suggested added 1 cup of parmesan cheese. Tossed pasta with sauce and my husband and I both agreed we would be hard pressed to find something this good at a restaurant.

Oven-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Added 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese to italian bread crumbs. Dipped chops in flour, then egg and then bread crumb/parmesan mixture. Repeated egg and bread crumb parmesan mixture steps. As per other reviewers omitted butter opting for butter flavored pam - sprayed pan and metal baking rack before placing chop. Sprayed chops before baking and re-sprayed when turned. Very good and will make again.

Breakfast Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
As others suggested did layered approach: meat, used southwest style hash browns, cheese and then topped with egg mixture (left out the mushrooms) and it was excellent. Will definitely make again.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Quick, easy and very good. Did add taco seasoning to meat with salsa as other suggested. Did not have green onions but used 4 oz can of diced green chiles along with the fresh chopped tomato as indicated. Excellent flavor. (perhaps others had mushy tortilla bottom from using canned tomato). Only enough leftovers for husbands lunch and there were only two of us :).

These were amazing - couple changes include using crumbled feta and a 10 oz pkg of frozen spinach thawed and squeezed dry. Cook time took 35-40 minutes. WOW

Excellent, hearty soup. We do not care for lima beans so used an extra can of white kidney beans, Also added some diced red pepper for color. Overall, excellent meal and minimal left overs.

Made the recipe exactly as written (for Super Bowl Sunday Dinner). As written it was great. Will try adding some minced garlic next time only because several other reviewers recommended it but otherwise would not change a thing.

Ham, Potato and Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This dish may not be the prettiest but it is certainly great tasting. I used hash browns and pre-cooked them in the oven 5-7 minutes each side (while I was making the topping). Added 3 tbsps. minced onions and used 3/4 (soup) can of skim milk. I also decreased the parmesan to 1/2 cup but sprinkled sharp cheddar cheese on top. Over all excellent.
