Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

This is a truely delicious pie. I have made six now and my husband can't seem to get enough of them. I didn't use scalded milk, I used a combination of evaporated milk and 2%. I did however have to do some research on the cooking of custard. I found that cooking my pie in a water bath did wonders for keeping the pie from over cooking aroung the edges. The texture came out much more creamy this way. This is truely a wonderful pie, thank you Marles!

Creamy Lemon Pie

I really like this pie. It is very lemony and EASY to make. I did use home grown lemons so I don't know if they made the pie more tart, but it took my husband about 2 bites before he decided he liked it. Then he ate 2 pieces. It kind of reminds me of a dense tart custard. I will make it again. One thing I did add was the zest of one lemon to the mixture.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

This is the best recipe for cheesecake. Every one has loved it and I have even made a little money on the side by selling a couple. I made one for Christmas without the crust and placed it on a layer of red velvet cake and frosted it with cream cheese frosting (homemade) and it was wonderfull and pretty inside and out! Like other people have said, do not over mix or it will be more likely to crack, also I bake mine in a water bath so it bakes evenly.

Fresh Apple Cake II

I'm sorry, I did not like this recipe. I found it to be bland and I seemed to keep tasting the soda. It didn't seem to bother my husband, but my son did not care for this cake at all. I feel bad to give such a low rating, but the taste was a 3 star experience for me.

Nacho Cheese Sauce

I found the sauce to be too powdery. I followed the directions as stated and the look of the sauce was lovely, the actuall tast of the sauce was good, but it was as if I could feel the flour on my tongue while I ate it which definately took away from the enjoyment of the sauce. If there is a way to make that not happen I would love to know how, because the recipe is so simple that it would be wonderful to be able to use it and have good results.

Cran-Raspberry Jellies

I really enjoyed the flavor but I found the candy hard to work with. I ended up making jelly blobs because they just wouldn't slice. I did save the day however by dipping my blobs in chocolate and topping them with pecans. So I ended up with a chewy chocolatey fruit and nut candy that was quite delicious. I just wish I could have been able to slice them.

Best Ever Cheese Fudge

I highly recomend trying this, it's super fast and easy with good results. I just made this fudge and I am very pleased with the flavor and the consistency. I halved the recipe, like every one else I was a little sceptical, but not anymore! But I do think cutting the recipe in half made it easier to work with. I did have to mix it with my hands because it was very stiff (I don't have a stand mixer). Just give it a chance.
