Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2014
Yum! I seasoned the flour with salt and pepper, then coated cubed chicken (I didn't cut mine into strips). Then cut up an onion, sauteed it in the oil, and added the chicken. I added freshly cut strips of carrots, chopped broccoli, and a stripped red bell pepper. I added half a can of pineapple juice and chopped pineapple, and the sauce it calls for, then let everything simmer. Next time I'll add mushrooms and cashews.

Cinnamon Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2014
Ever tried Starbucks Caramel Apple Cider? This is part of the recipe! Just buy freshly pressed Apple cider, normally located in your produce department. Make this recipe, mix it into your Apple cider and add a little Salted Caramel coffee syrup, heat to your desired degree, top with whipped cream and wah-la. Its great to mix altogether in the crock pot on high with a few cinnamon sticks for a fall or winter gathering. Want to spike it? Add caramel vodka ;-).

Cajun Style Baked Sweet Potato

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
Made some adjustments, I paired these as a side to go with the Autumn Ham Steak recipe on this site... I used two sweet potatoes and one yam- cut into bite sized cubes, coated with olive oil; and tossed with a tablespoon each of Cajun Seasoning, and brown sugar, and one teaspoon of Rosemary. Placed in the oven at 375, baked until tender for about twenty to thirty minutes (just check by poking with a fork until they're tender enough for your liking). Great sweet&spicy side to go with the ham steak recipe.

Autumn Spice Ham Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
Yum! I reversed the recipe a bit... melted butter with 1tsp oil (to prevent the butter from burning) on med heat. Added brown sugar and let melt/carmelize. Then I added the apple slices. Sauteed about 3 minutes, flipped, coated with a few sprinkles of cinnamon. Then I moved the apples to the side of my big skillet and added the ham steaks. I let them cook and brown in the skillet, flipped and covered with the apples, then lightly dropped the maple syrup over the steaks and apples. Yummo! I paired this with the Cajun Style Baked Sweet Potato recipe on this site. Great recipe, thanks for sharing :-)

Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
I added a little extra cinnamon and nutmeg. I also used 3 yams and 1 sweet potato instead of the 4lb of s.p. the recipe calls for. EVERYONE loved it and it was the talk of the night. There was none left over. Thanks for the great recipe... I will use this one EVERYTIME from now on! It was not too sweet at all!!

Sunday's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
WONDERFUL RECIPE! I used the Pillsbury Pie Crusts (2 in a box, bought 2 boxes). I followed recipe exactly, expect for cutting about 15 Kraft Caramels in half, then adding to the first half of the apples that were added to the pastry shell, then I added the rest of them once the rest of the apples were in the shell, and then about 1 tsp pf vanilla extract to top it off. I cut about 1 and a half of the other crusts into strips in order to lace the top of the pie. (picture available in picture box). Remember to slice your apples pretty thin so the apples can cook down enough while baking. Rewarm the pie before serving and ice cream goes GREAT with it. Especially home made! ;) My hubby who NEVER eats any kind of pie ate some of this one and LOVED it! It is the best apple pie I have ever had and everyone who ate it said the same thing! I used a variety of apples though, so I could catch the flavor of each one. I will be using this recipe plus the Kraft soft-chew caramels EVERYTIME now!!! Thanks for the great recipe!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I put the chicken, dressing mix, wine, cream of mushroom, and cream cheese into the crock pot on low for about 5-6 hours. About 4 hours in to it, lifted the lid and stirred it with a fork. The chicken came apart and shredded, so the sauce mixed in well and gave it LOTS of flavor! Put it atop the pasta. Delicious and hassle free!!!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
After shredding the beef I decided to try the sauce. It makes a great base, but I felt like it needed a little something more... I added chili powder, pepper, salt, onion powder and garlic salt. MMMMM!!!! Every one loved it! After shredding it I took the lid off and it helped the sauce to thicken.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
This is exactly like the Toll House recipe, except for the instant vanilla pudding powder. I divided this recipe into half so I only made about 40 cookies, but I added 1/4 t salt and 1/2 t baking powder. They came out deliciously!!! This will be my new cookie recipe! One tip, once you pull them out of the oven, hold your cookie sheet over the stove top about a foot and drop it, do this about 3 to 4 times and it will nicley and evenly flatten your cookies (but still leaves you with a fluffiness). I cooked these on parchment paper in the oven which helps with a more even browning of each cookie!

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
The texture of the meat was not great! I was disappointed in this recipe. The gravy didn't have much flavor and my son and husband did not like it either. Won't be trying this one again. Disappointed.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
It was a little too sweet for me, wish I would have tried the dry mustard, as suggested by a reviewer. I did try the Worsechester sauce- which was fine, but I prefer my meat loaf with garlic powder, bell peppers and plenty of salt and pepper. Wont try this one again, but may borrow the topping (sauce) for my own meatloaf recipe. Wasn't too impressed. :/ Darn it.

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
I serve this all of the time. Baby showers I either add pink sprinkles or food coloring for a girl or blue sprinkles or food coloring for a boy. It's great with a third ingredient: Cool whip also. Goes well with apples, pineapple, grapes (green), and strawberries!

Lime Chicken with Cilantro Cream Sauce and Roasted Zucchini

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
I used artichoke instead of zucchini. Add a little chicken bullion powder to your pasta with the cheese and that will zaz it up a little for your taste buds. I would recommendnot using any lime juice in your sauce if you've marinated your chicken in it and add half of a fresh mango to the blender for your sauce, it's great!!! I added a little paprika to the top to dress it up a little bit.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
OMGOODNESS!!!! I used raspberry, almond, and maple extract instead of vanilla and they came out DELICIOUS!!! *Of course I split the chocolate into thirds and used one extract per thirds-didn't combine them. I am so pleased! I will definitely do raspberry next time too, but am thinking I will try orange and strawberry extracts instead of maple and almond. Very pleased! The white chocolate did muck up a little b/c of the chocolate balls, so I did as suggested in a previous review, I used 2 spoons and rolled the chocolate balls. I think I will use white chocolate in the filling instead of milk choc and use orange food coloring for the or. extract and red for the strawberry, but red in the milk choc for the raspberry ones. Mmmm! Def making agian!

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
I cooked it as instructed, in my roasting pan in the oven and my meat wasn't as tender as I would have liked. I have a tastier recipe for roast that comes out delicious, so I'll be sticking to my recipe. I enjoyed trying something new though. Thanks.
