Slow Cooker Lancaster County Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2000
While I'm not much of a saurkraut lover, my Polish step-father thought my making it was a great father's day present, and the rest of the family loved it too.

Grandma's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2000
I used this recipe with turkey, not beef, and it tasted very flavorfull and moist. But it took about a half an hour longer than the recipe required in baking time.

Peach Cream Pie II

Very easy to make, but of course it's a bit runny so put it in the fridge a while before serving.

Chicken A La Impress Me

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2000
Very impressive entre. By the time these are done they look a bit small, but don't be deceived, they're very filling.

Mozzarella Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2000
Very good for a low-fat meal. Wonderful way to trick your family into eating well! This recipe came out tasting really salty, so I recommend using low-sodium condensed soups if you can get them.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2000
This is the BEST potato soup I have had. Ever. Better than any restaurant or any family members recipe. If you have a little bit of time, and want a lot of praise, this is what I would go for. Beer Bread is great for sopping up the bottom of the bowl. Karena, thank you so very much for submitting this! Wonderful!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2000
This cake tasted excellent and was very moist for days, but it fell apart very easily. Even though I followed the directions to a tee, i had to let it cool for an extra half an hour before the cakes would even come out of the pans. When they did come out they cracked, crumbled, and fell apart. So, make it when you want a yummy treat... not when you're trying to impress anyone. For an icing i used Bakery Shop Icing which tasted very good, but of course didn't look the greatest with all the crumbled bits in it. Overall a very tastey dessert.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2000
And the lesson for today is: A little sage goes a long way. Very tastey, and the sage packs a powerful punch, be careful not to overdo it.

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
delicious! i took the suggestion to only use 1/2 cut sugar. i used both walnuts and some chocolate chips, and i used half white flour, half whole wheat flour and they came out perfectly sweet and hearty. i will use this recipe again and again!

Crumb Cake I

Reviewed: May 13, 2000
pretty good, but it didn't taste much like the crumb cakes i'd had before. i made this for a party in my 12th grade english class once we finished our huge research paper. definately no complaints from that crowd (or the teacher).

Greek Salad I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2000
This salad tastes fabulous, especially the dressing. I somehow had no oregano so I substituted thyme instead and it still came out very tastey. This salad makes a lot so it's great for the rare moments when the whole family eats together.

Simply Lemon Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2003
this chicken was delightful! i used a chicken about 5 1/2 lbs. but the cooking time didn't need to be increased at all, i used a meat thermometer to be sure. inserting the lemon inside the chicken kept the meat moist as well as flavorful. my whole family loved this recipe, my mother's already asked when i'll make it again!

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2000
Excellent brownies! My own mother declared them the best she ever had. Of course, I did mess with the recipe a little. Instead of vanilla I used almond, and instead of an 8 inch pan I used a 9 inch, but also used self-rising flour and not all-purpose. Even altered they are fabulous!

Red Velvet Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2000
The icing isn't worth it. It came out very drippy no matter what I did, and it looked clumpy and gross. Next time I'lluse Best White Icing Ever or Bakery Shop Icing instead.
