Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
This is very good and easy to throw together. I did up the spices a little. All in all, a great recipe that made my family happy.

Beef Tips and Noodles

This is the recipe I use for a slow cooker oven roast. It is excellent and makes a great gravey. Is wonderful over baked sweet potatoes as well.

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
This has good flavor and smells delish, but in the future if I make it, I will use an oven roast instead. This had way too much fat floating around for me to want to serve it to my family let alone eat it myself. By the time I was finished fishing out the fat, there was only 1/2 left.

Chicken Puffs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
I usually don't review recipes if I have added or altered them, but is time I am. First, these are great. I make something similar with beef...the changes I made are as follows: I cooked the chicken as directed, but added some fresh rosemary just before it was done. I didn't use butter at all and used 6 oz of light cream cheese. I also took two of the crescent rolls and made them into a square instead of the triangle, so they were just bigger. Delicious recipe. Family gobbled them up!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2012
I've made something similar to this before, but this was definitely better. I did use fresh rosemary, oregano and garlic cloves. It gets 5 stars for ease of preparation and flavor! Next time I just have to make more. My family inhaled it and were looking for seconds and there wasn't any. Going to make this again for sure!

Banana Coconut Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
Delicious! Made this as is,aside from not using cherries ( I had none) and pecans instead of walnuts because we prefer them. This was moist and very flavorful. I also made them as muffins instead of a loaf since I was limited on time. Took 25 minutes.

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
Made this last night and it was the first whole chicken for me. I have to say, I will make this again and again. First off...simple, simple, simple! Second, I doubled all spices (not sugar or salt) and marinated for 24 hrs like directed. I rubbed the spices under the skin too. It was almost done cooking when I had to leave, so my hubby turned off the oven, covered it and when we got home an hour later, it was perfect! So, with that being said, I don't know if keeping it in the oven with the oven off cooked it anymore or not. My kids just shoveled it in their mouths...no chatting or fighting like normal. ;) The house smelled wonderful to boot. This is such a great but mild flavored bird. Moist and delish! Thank you!

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
This was good. I followed others advice and cooked the crust for 10 minutes prior to adding peaches. I think this worked out well. I would have preferred a little extra flavor throughout the dessert though, like possibly some cinnamon in the peaches. It was light and easy to make. I had doubled the batch like others had recommended and it made a lot. Would be perfect for a potluck.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
This is good but a little on the rich side. I even used reduced fat cream cheese and healthy request soup...kids liked it, but was a bit heavy for them. The ease to make was great, considering I threw in frozen breasts. The tenderness was good too...served over egg noodles. I will probably make again but cut down the amount of cream cheese and soup and maybe add some water.

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
Would loved to have given this more than 3 stars, but can't. Here's why..after the first 2 1/2 hours cooking, and I followed the directions to a T, it was already so dry and burned on the top. I had to literally scrape it off the bottom and sides to even be able to finish preparing per the directions. I added the remaining ingredients and then turned the oven down to 300 to spare any more drying. After it was all said and done, I had to make a rue of beef broth, flour and water just so we could eat it. With that, it was tolerable, but barely. Sadly, I don't think this is a recipe I will ever make again.

Uglies

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Made these the other night and my kids said how gross they looked...that made me laugh because of the name. Of course, they loved them. I didn't use as much BBQ sauce as called for and did cut the biscuits in half. This made for fast, easy and delicious meal. Will definitely be making these again.

BBQ Chicken Calzones

Fixed exactly as shown. My family gobbled them up but later commented that there was too much BBQ sauce. Other than that, great, easy recipe.

Slow Cooker Bolognese

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
Just finished eating this and I had to review immediately. This is delish! The ease of preparation alone made this great, but the flavor is outstanding. My daughter has been begging me to make bolognese forever but I put it off because of time. With this recipe, time is no issue. The only change I made was using Italian crushed tomatoes only because the store I went to didn't have plain. I think it just added to the flavor. Maybe will cut back on the added oregano next time as I tasted that more. My family gobbled it up as fast as I put it on their plates. I will never use jar sauce again!

Zucchini and Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
I have been making this yummy dish for years, but I also add chopped red onions. I sauté the onions and zucchini (in cooking spray instead of oil) for a bit to soften the onions, then scramble in the eggs. A little pepper and this makes an amazing snack full of protein. Perfect after a workout.

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
Jan 9,2012..update. Made this again this Christmas and was so happy I did. Ignoring the fact that I flubbed it horribly last year, I used 1/2 turkey drippings and 1/2 stock and it turned out amazing. Everyone was thrilled with the taste and consistency, but no one more than me. Will make every year from now on. (last year): Giving this 4 stars only because you should not use all 5 cups of turkey drippings...especially if you have brined your turkey...I will make this for Christmas tho and use bought turkey stock as the majority of the base. This actually had great taste and was as easy as humanly possible to make...just way too salty the way it was prepared..My fault tho!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
This is the best chili ever! I have been looking for a recipe that my kids would like since I love chili and they don't...this is THE ONE! It is so good! I did use 1/2 and 1/2 beef and turkey tho, 1/2 of the called for amount of tomato juice and cut the chili powder some for the sake of my kids. Perfect combo of spice and sweet...Just a great meal!

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Wow! What a delicious recipe. I did use 1'/. Milk instead of whole and fat free sour cream, added extra pepper since we like zing, a little onion salt and parsley..perfect for our cold fall days in the great Northwest. This will definitely be a fall and winter staple in our home.
