Slow Cooker Latin Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
It was tasty, but did not really blow me away. Will probably make again just because it was easy. I will add more salsa next time.

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
Great recipe! Tastes really good and I have leftovers. Nice and easy to make too! Next time, instead of using two tortillas and managing to spill half of the filling out when i tried to flip it to crisp the other side, I will just use one tortilla and fold it in half. I may also use frozen corn rather than canned just out of a preference of flavour. I'm planning to make this for my boyfriend sometime soon!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Great easy recipe. I used 1 extra teaspoon of vanilla and a quarter cup less of flour. I used teaspoon sized balls and got way more than 4 dozen. I would say closer to 6 or 7 dozen! That's good though because they are absolutely delicious and I am gonna be eating these like crazy. Each cookie turned out perfectly round and nicely baked after exactly 8 minutes in the oven. Great recipe, thanks!

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
These cookies are great. I completely forgot to add the brown sugar and they still turned out pretty tasty. I think the filling is sweet enough to compensate for the not so sweet chocolate outside. Sure, they were a little tricky to roll but I managed without adding any milk. I ended up with a tiny bit of peanut butter filling left over. Will make these cookies again!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Very yummy cookies. I also altered the recipe by using 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt (I used salted butter). I added chocolate chips and some leftover white chocolate chips I had kicking around. I think they taste great and have a nice consistency. My boyfriend likes them too so that's always a bonus!

Ice Cream Cake Roll

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
My first attempt at this cake was a disaster. The cocoa/egg yolk/flour mixture was more like cookie dough and actually bent my spoon when i was stirring it. I had a tough time figuring out how to fold the whites into something i couldnt even stir! After i put it in the oven it baked alright but sadly i took it out too early and tried to flip/roll it and yeah it just didnt work. Attempt number two was much more successful and my cake was quite delicious. I filled it with mocha almond fudge ice cream. I did not make the chocolate sauce.

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
This cake turned out pretty good but I would change a couple things in the procedure. I think it would be better to add the food colouring to the creamed mixture directly and mix the cocoa with the flour rather than make the paste. I don't think I had enough food colouring to begin with but the cocoa did not create a paste and I ended up with lumps of bitter cocoa in the final product. This was my first time even tasting red velvet cake so I'm not sure what it is supposed to taste like but this was delicious! I will definately try to make this cake again. I iced it with store-bought vanilla icing and it tastes fine. Maybe next time I will try the icing too! EDIT: I made this cake again and tried the icing...absolutely delicious! Made enough to cover a double layer 8x8 cake with some leftover...just spread it extra thick! Yummy!

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
Delicious! I had a near disaster when I went to measure out my flour and found I only had a cup and a bit left in the bag, so I substituted the rest with buttermilk pancake mix! I also didn't have buttermilk and just used normal milk. I may have added slightly less milk. It turned out amazing in the end, nice and fruity and moist. I love this cake so much I'm waiting for my bananas to ripen so that I can make it again! I'm going to try muffins next time.

Chocolate Napoleons

Taste pretty good...nothing spectacular though. I just made them because I had leftover frozen puff pastry and a package of chocolate pudding kicking around. Probably won't make them again.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
Great tasting cookies! They turned out a little flat but personally I like thin cookies. I used butter instead of margarine. I don't know why people were complaining about these cookies. If you keep the batter chilled and I dropped them by the teaspoon onto the tray they turn out perfect. They also slid right off the pan no problem. Helped calm my chocolate craving in a pinch!

Honey-Mustard Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
A pretty good recipe overall. It didn't turn out quite as I expected it to but I think it was because of the type of dijon mustard i had. The sauce was very dark looking because of the soy sauce but it tasted a lot better than it looked. Next time I will make sure I have the regular kind of mustard than the kind I had.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Excellent recipe! I cut it in half and baked it in a 9X9 inch pan because that is the only size I have and it turned out perfectly. I forgot to include the chocolate chips but they still tasted great! I will definitely include the chocolate chips next time to make them even more chocolatey and rich.

Cinnamon-Peach Cottage Cheese Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
I love these pancakes! I made them with blueberries because I didn't have any peaches on hand. Next time I am going to try chocolate chip! I also added a dash of cardamom to the batter and it gave it a great flavour.

Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
I love these cookies and so does everyone who tries them! I like to use a combination of white and milk chocolate chips and I only use one tsp of vanilla, vanilla yogurt instead of plain yogurt, and I add about half the salt.
