Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Awesome soft cookie recipe! I omitted the cinnamon and added 1/2 C of peanut butter. It was the perfect peanut butter cookie.

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
Excellent! I would cut the cooking time down to 30 minutes, it was a little dry for my taste but I poured milk over it as suggested by another reviewer and it was just like oatmeal cookies and milk. Perfect!

Restaurant Style Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
This is the absolute best recipe I have found, ever! My husband and I are not drinkers but we had leftover merlot from company and I made this recipe. My husband does not like spaghetti because of his past but he gave me two thumbs up and requested I make it again. Not something he does. I put the sauce in the crockpot for 4 hours on high and added cooked macaroni noodles right before serving to make more of a goulash. I did add only half of the merlot recommended because I knew it would be strong of a flavor for non-drinkers.

Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
I loved this recipe! I did modify it a little bit, i added seasoned diced tomatoes to the rice mix and omitted the tomato sauce. I also used wayyy less cheese, i dont care for swiss very much so i might use a monterey cheese. today i used a small amount of swiss and cheddar.

Bierrocks III

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
Loved it! So did my guests :) I did add a dash of vinegar because the filling tasted a bit heavy for my tastes. On top before baking I used Pam cooking spray and sprinkled garlic salt instead of butter. Love love love and will def be making it again.

Crispy Turnip 'Fries'

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
I loved it! I'm generally a gluten-free eater and potatoes are kind of off the list as well so this worked really well for me. Raw turnips remind me of carrots (a little bit sweet) so oven frying them like this they reminded me of sweet potato fries. I imagine these would be delicious with cinnamon and sugar on them.

Sugar Cookie Slices

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I LOVED this recipe, i have a kid in the house that is allergic to egg and we wanted to do cut-out cookies and decorate them. Have plenty of flour if you plan on rolling out the dough and be sure to cook them all the way. I under cooked them slightly for a softer cookie but it just tasted like I was eating warmed butter, gross. We used cream cheese icing and it made for one of the most addicting cookies i've ever eaten.

Baked Alaska

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
It was ok. This was the first time I had Baked Alaska and I wasn't impressed. It was a lot of work for something that didn't taste very good and was difficult to make. It was fun but I probably wont make it again. Not something you can wow guests with since you have to make and serve immediately which means you have to be in the kitchen cooking instead of socializing.

Snack Crackers

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
I love these crackers! But I gave it four stars because the directions are awful. Did anyone notice that there's no baking temp?? And you really only need 1/3 C of oil - why have the extra calories when you really don't need to? I baked mine at 300 degrees for 15 minutes. I think if you set the oven at 200 you might be able to bake them for an hour... but why? Especially when you can bake them for 15 minutes instead. The crackers were a hit at my NYE party and now that I know how to actually cook them, I'll be making them a lot for school lunches.

This is a really great base recipe! Too bland just as is for my family. Doctored up just a tad and it's definitely a 5 star recipe. Like others I added mushrooms, onions, garlic, other spices, etc.

Classic American-Style Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
Best potato salad ever! I've made my own for years and never been quite satisfied. I did add bacon because we already had some crumbled. To make it even better we had potatoes right out of our garden.
