Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
I used sourdough bread instead of wheat and white. I used turkey sausage and pork sausage and Smith apple (that't what I had on hand) and used chicken stock because I could not find the turkey stock. Everything else the same except I do not believe in stuffing the turkey. I put sage a couple of lemons and a orange and poke them with a fork and put them inside the turkey ( if you do this make sure you put some butter, sage, salt and lemon juice between the skin to give it flavor). I cooked my stuffing separate. I think it was very good a little on the bland side. Stuffing is one of my favorites and I like to try other recipes. I think my grandmother's recipe is the best....will try and put it up with picture at some point. Thanks!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
Love sweet potatoes! I follow the directions except I used 1/4 cup of white sugar. I don't like to measure so I taste as I go along and I used a little less than 1/2 cup of brown sugar as I did not want it too sweet. I did not boil the potatoes instead I baked them like suggested from one of the reviewers. The result delicious! I suggest you bake the sweet potatoes it gives them a great flavor. I love this recipe and it's a keeper for my next Thanksgiving. Thanks!

Summer Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
I loved this simple salad. I did not have yellow pear tomatoes so I omitted it. I made slight change by adding 2 TBS of extra virgin olive oil and about 1tsp of red pepper flakes and I squeezed 1/2 a lemon. Very refreshing!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
I made a slight change I followed the recipe but added some salsa about 1/4 cup that I had on hand and a few chopped can jalapenos. Also, I added more tomatoe. It's more a "taste and adjust" to your liking. This is more of a topping on tacos or quesadillas than a salad.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
Delicious! Actually I used 15 mushrooms and 1/2 the cream cheese. I did not want it too cheesy. I have a small toothbrush that I use only for the mushrooms and that's how I clean them. I did add pepper flakes my family likes it a little more spicy and 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper and topped it with Panko bread crumbs and a little butter on top. It came out a little crunchy really yummy.

Scalloped Potatoes I

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Very good! I used a large dish so I went ahead and used 1 can of Cheddar and 1 can of mushroom soup and I used both Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese. For the last few minutes I put lots of cheese on top and broil it to make it crispy on top. Keep an eye out so as not to burn. My guess enjoyed it and at the end of the meal scallops were all gone.

Spanish Flan

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
I used 4 eggs instead of 3 and it had a good consistency. I used 10 small individual glass dishes like the ones used for jello. I put them in the fridge for 4hrs when I took them out I let them sit out for about 1/2 hr. I inverted the dishes but the sugar was hard as rock so most of the sugar stayed on the dish. It was delicious but maybe next time I won't put it in the fridge.

Mexican Wedding Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2012
This Mexican Wedding Cookies are delicious. Light and not too sweet. I,like other readers used powdered sugar instead of the granulated sugar. When I took them out of the oven I let them cool for about 5 minutes and then carefully with a spatula I put them on the wire rack( otherwise they will crumble) and sprinkled powdered sugar and let them cool. Once cooled I sprinkled them again with powdered sugar. They do expand when baking so I made mine very small so you can just popped them in your mouth! For Xmas I am baking these cookies but this time I will try the recipe with cinnamon.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
I added all ingredients except the mayo, my family does not like mayo. I found it bland and maybe the key ingredient is the mayo other than that it was good. Next time I will try a little variation like some suggestions from the reviewers

Marinated Pork Loin

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
I made this last night for my husband he did not care much for it but my children liked it. I use apple cider but only 1tsp and omitted cayenne pepper since my husband does not eat hot pepper. I added 1tbs of butter for the consistency of the sauce. I may try it again when my husband is out of town. Thanks for the recipe.

Tuna Casserole III

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
OMG! I also grew up with this recipe with the exact ingredients. We were five kids plus Mom and Dad and money was tight so this fed everyone. I thought it was my Mom's recipe..haha guess a lot of homes at the time needed to stretch that dollar. I love this recipe but not my husband so I only do it occasionally.

Amber's Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
Very good! I read the other reviews to give me an idea. I did add more teriyaki and honey and more vegetables like your member suggested. I did shake the chicken to remove excess flour before browning. Before serving I added some chow mein noodles on top for the crunchiness.

Broiled Grouper with Creamy Crab and Shrimp Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
Very good. Made some changes, I did not have crab meat but I had some fresh small shrimp and bay scallops and I added green onions. I omitted the mustard. I had Mahi Mahi on hand and that's what I used and once in the oven I put Panko bread crumbs on top to give it a little crunch. Mahi Mahi was delicious and the "shrimp/scallop" sauce gave it a nice touch. This goes to my recipe box. Thank you.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Very good! I did make some little changes. I used real butter instead of margarine, substituted 3cups of water for 4 cups of chicken broth and on the cream cheese I used only one 8oz package and half and half. I usually don't measure. I just add as I see and taste. With that said I used a little more onions and some garlic. The squash after I peeled and cut in cubes I put them in the oven to roast a little before putting them in the blender. I think it gives it a better taste. This is one of my favorite soups!

Angie's Perfect Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I made the dinner rolls the day before Thanksgiving and they were pretty tasty. I was a little disappointed because the rolls in the middle were not completely baked like the ones on the edge. I think that using a larger dish would do the trick. Like some readers suggested I added half cup of flour and still sticky when trying to shape into a ball. This is my first time making bread so maybe next time I will do better.
